Originally bought the tabletop Nostalgic for less than $50. Product should not be on the market -- no cotton candy after trying for 45 minutes. Then, I saw this Nostalgic cotton candy machine cart and read the mostly positive reviews. I ordered it and am not disappointed. Yaayyy to a no-fat dessert whenever the mood strikes. This machine should not be considered "commercial" as it is definitely more of a family/home machine.
Pros:
--Cotton candy started spinning out almost immediately.
--Good amount of cotton candy on cone
--Easy to use and clean
--Came with 2 packages of pink vanilla floss and 2 pkgs of blue raspberry floss; paper cones
--All tools for assembly provided
--Though it is a cart, doesn't really take up that much space, especially if you leave off the cone holder attachment
--2 spare fuses provided
--Great price in comparison to other cotton candy machines
--Quiet machine when making cotton candy. Was pleasantly surprised!

Cons
--Terrible, awful, horrible directions for assembly. Incomplete information! The worst I have ever seen.
-- Not all bolts fit properly as some of the holes were too small (and, yes, I used the correct bolt) There were enough bolts that did fit O.K., so machine is stable, however, I wouldn't feel comfortable rolling it around here and there.
--A couple of springs were included, which I have no idea where they should go! I also had some left over bolts and screws.
--Some smoking when using it, though not enough to set off any smoke alarms.
--A fair amount of sugar doesn't get spun and ends up wasted and scattered inside the bowl.

Having had a passion for cotton candy since I think birth, I was goofing around one day and came across this machine, and bought it. It was super easy to put together, good thing cuz the instruction sheet is a rough picture (just use the hex head screws on the bottom, the round heads for the trays, put a washer on everything. Long bolts for wheels, short bolts on front legs 3 screws hold the dome on.). No tools required, they give you everything. Perfect, no parts left over... always a good thing! I plugged the thing in and turned it on empty and everything spun centered. I then poured in the sugar they give me, and turned it back on. Within 2-3 seconds here came the cotton candy and within 20 seconds my wife was gobbling hers down. The machine also came with cones and 2 flavors of sugar so your all set to play right away. Cleanup is super easy too! The bowl is coated so the sugar line falls right off and wipes right out, that's all there is to it, other than run all the sugar out of the spinner.
This machine will be allot of fun for many years! It came with an extra set of brushes for the motor, and another set of fuses too. I missed Halloween this year but next year I will start a new tradition for the kids. One down thing is making cotton candy smokes up the house a little, but it's happy sweet smoke, and although you can see it, it smells nice in here.

I bought this for our church to be used during children's events we do through the year. We now have a popcorn machine, several small carnival type games, a bounce house, and this cotton candy machine.

Some stuff you might find useful.

The bowl is just over 20 inches, so nearly 2 feet. It is easily detachable for cleaning as well. You would think this is something that was mentioned very prominently in the description, but it isn't.

This comes with a measuring "cup" but the device doesn't fit well into the smaller plastic containers of cotton candy sugar I bought. It would probably work well in the "milk carton" style containers, but those wouldn't reseal as well. We did move the sugar to other containers for the event and just stored it in the smaller plastic containers.

This comes with extra fuses and some other spare parts. I assume that means those parts will be needed. It is working fine so far, but I taped them under the shelf so I can find them when we do need them.

Speaking of that, there is no real storage. There are two small shelves, one with holes for the tubes and one with a handle. It would be nice if there was a drawer, even a small one but alas, there is not.

It comes with 6 plastic tubes for gathering cotton candy and they work pretty well.

I am very glad for the bubble dome. We use it outside and I can imagine it would be problematic without the dome.

I'm not a huge fan of how the wheels mount, there is a bit of play in them so they can float around and tend to sit at a bit of an angle. I'm concerned this will eventually cause them to break, but it seems this is how it was designed to fit together as both wheels are tight as I can make them and both fit the same.

Here's the deal. I was VERY apprehensive about buying this product because several reviews say the wheels are bad or it smokes or it wastes sugar or it's impossible to put together. I decided to anyway because of the return policy. Overall, i'd rate this unit an 8.5/10. It is fantastic for basic home use, NOT for making huge commercial sized cotton candy cones. We rent the unit out with our bounce houses and we have very little customer complaints.

PROS:
1. Contrary to other reviews, this was EASY to put together. Took me 30 minutes. All tools are included and the instructions are very easy if you just read them. Not to sound condescending to those who hate the instructions, but I was surprised it was as simple as it was.
2. It's inexpensive. A commercial cotton candy machine will run at least $550, plus another $250 for the card. This one is very affordable and works the EXACT same way, it just makes smaller cones.
3. Easy to use. This is critical for us because we have to be able to communicate to our customers about it. You literally turn on the heat, dump a scoop of floss sugar in it, turn on the motor and it spins.
4. "Wow factor". It looks and feels like a carnival style cotton candy maker, kids always freak out when we deliver it and parents LOVE that.

CONS:
1. It DOES smoke. However, that's really not a problem. All cotton candy machines smoke a little. The process is what causes it, the sugar is heated until it's liquid and then spun out as cotton candy. When you heat sugar it smokes a little.
