Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

Nostradamus, the 16th-century prophet by whom all other prophets are judged, left a legacy of cryptic predictions that have puzzled interpreters for centuries. Manfred Dimde believes he has cracked the code to Nostradamus's prophecies, and offers a glimpse at the surprises in store for us in the next hundred years, such as an entirely new method of transportation by the year 2000, and a new energy source by 2008. Dimde paints a picture of a future full of exciting new discoveries, but not without its share of political and social problems. What sets Nostradamus: Predictions for the 21st Century apart from similar works is its bold claim to have pinned down prophecies uncovered in Nostradamus's work to specific dates, a boldness that will either make this the single best book about the future, or prove to be its undoing as the next hundred years roll by. --Brian Patterson

4.0 out of 5 stars Read for the english translations in the back, April 19, 2006

This review is from: Nostradamus: Predictions for the 21st Century (Paperback)
I would give it a 5, but a lot of the stuff Dimde suggests is unsupported by the book. It is the best book I have found for getting the actual text and making a sense of the text that Nostradamus wrote.

The book begins by explaining how the Nostrodamus texts were eventually 'cracked' and then goes through Dimde' interpretation of them.

I enjoy reading the 'how' of Dimde's conclusions after reading the actual translations in the back, but I don't fully agree with them. Even though I don't completely agree it is very helpful to get his impressions because it helped me to start trying to interpret the raw Nostradamus quadrains.

The gem, for me, is the rear of the book. It has the Nostradamus predictions from 2000-2100 translated into english. As with any translation it is colored by Dimde's presonal views, but after reading the rest of the book it is easy to 'look through' the text to develop your own interpretation.

I am no scholar of Nostrasamus, but for someone who wants a vague sense of what may be coming up I found the book worth-while.

Looking over the predictions for 2000-2005 as translated in the book has not been enough to convince me that Notradamus is accurate, but for general feel the book as been good. And I think we will be able to make some solid conclusions by 2013 if the translations hold.

1.0 out of 5 stars The predictions of Dimde have no connections to Nostradamus., April 7, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Nostradamus: Predictions for the 21st Century (Paperback)
Dimde gives an very interesting look into the future. Perhaps some of his predictions will be true. But, unfortunately, these predictions are his personal opinions about the future. There is no any connection between these predictions and the unknown intentions of Nostradamus. In order to get the explanation of my statement, please look to my web-page (only in german). To get the address, please send me an e-mail.
