Book Description

February 8, 2002

Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

A businessman and historian residing in Pennsylvania, Montaigne has produced an accessible guide to prophet Nostradamus's predictions, in particular the anticipation of the Third World War in 2002. The author begins by revoking the belief that Nostradamus predicted the destruction of the World Trade Center towers last September. Space is also devoted to what the author considers to be Nostradamus's successful prophecies, among them the advent of Napoleon, Roosevelt's failure to stop the Holocaust, and the fall of the Shah of Iran. Montaigne then focuses on those predictions related to World War III. According to his readings, Nostradamus anticipates that after the first antichrist, Osama bin Laden, is destroyed, the second antichrist, Saddam Hussein, will wreak havoc on Western Europe. Each prophecy is followed by short and long interpretations so that readers can either skim or focus on a particular topic. For verification purposes Montaigne cites sources in footnotes. The bibliography, however, is overly brief, citing only five books, none of them in Spanish. Because Nostradamus is already well known and popular among Hispanics, this book will be popular in public libraries and bookstores serving readers of Spanish. About the Author

David Montaigne is an entrepreneur by trade but was educated as an historian, and writing about unusual historical topics is where his true passion lies. His university thesis "Spain’s Role in World War Two" was poured over by researchers in Washington, London and Madrid.

In his youth, David was first introduced to the prophecies of Nostradamus through a movie on the subject. His fascination with the French mystic’s sobering prophecies stirred him to read as much as possible while growing up. When David started doing serious research, and for the first time held copies of Nostradamus’ prophecies published in Europe hundred of years ago, he was amazed to learn how many similarities there were between the problems he had encountered and those faced by editors in centuries past. As such, David recommends to readers that they do not take translations and interpretations for granted, and encourages readers to explore the several excellent books listed in the biography of  Nostradamus, World War III, 2002.

5.0 out of 5 stars Un libro fácil de leer y con argumentos sólidos, January 8, 2003
This review is from: Nostradamus y la tercera guerra mundial de 2002 (Spanish Edition) (Paperback)
