5.0 out of 5 stars Kaci is not your average popstar
Kaci is definitely not your average popstar. The CD had a great mix of songs which mix Latin, Dance, R&B, and Pop together and creates a GREAT song. Kaci proves she has a social conscience in "Intervention Divine". "Paradise" is a very catchy dance/latin/pop song. "I'm Not Anybody's Girl" and "I think I Love You" are also...

2.0 out of 5 stars Well...it's better than some Disney...
One thing for sure is that she definitly has more singing ability and talent than hilary duff, which isn't really saying much actually. It seems very Disney Radio. Paradise was the significant song, but I personally found it annoying. Try Nikki Cleary instead. We will never hear from Kaci again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pop is back . . . AGAIN, July 10, 2004
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: I'm Not Anybody's Girl (Audio CD)
It's amazing how many times you can beat the dead horse called POP MUSIC, but somehow it's still alive. This isn't just bubble gum pop, this is also a mix of what Debbie Gibson, Michael Jackson, Christina Aguilera, and Britney Spears do best.
Track number 1, "Paradise," is a bit of Ricky Martin- (or insert your favorite latin singer's name here) style with some light drums and subtle voices in the backgrounds.
"Kiss Me Crazy" is still bubble-gummy, yet it has some bass guitar rock to it. The track's kinda fruity, but at least it sounds good.
There there's "Butterflie's Don't Lie," which is more of a slow melody. It's great for slow dancing or as an alternative lulluby -just make sure you program it to be the last song that plays.
As you may have guessed "Tu Amor" is also sort of Spanish, but not as well done as Paradise. It's still a decent song though.
"Everlasting" is a disco beat of sorts, though of course obsessed disco fans will argue otherwise. I can picture my room with reflected stars revolving around my room while listening to this beat though.
"I Think I Love You" is simply an upbeat re-sing of the Partrige Family classic. I think some of the words were changed, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I give it about a nine out of ten. I bought the CD for this song, after all.
"Just An Old Boyfriend" is another slow one with drums. It's not my favorite song, but I don't think it's a waste either.
"Begging Me" is another tune that almost touches the "dance club" category, but then slips back into what puts this CD in the POP section of a record store. Hey, it's still good.
"All Over You" reminds me of "Don't Go Knockin' On My Door" in terms of style. Not the words, but the beat itself. If you haven't heard "Don't Go Knockin' On My Door" by Britney Spears, then I'm sorry, I can't make an acurate description.
"You Got Me" (not to be confused with "You Really Got Me Goin'" or "You Really Got Me Now") is pop/rock in its own right. It's not my favorite, but that's just me. I'm listening to this track right now and I'm not really feeling it.
The title song, "I'm Not Anybody's Girl," is not the best song is on the disk, but it's still worth listening to.
"I'm Gonna Break Your Heart This Time" is so-so. It's got some good beats, but those are few. It's POP in almost every sense.
"Intervention Divine" has become my favorite song on the disk (hope I don't get sick of it). It's slightly religious but not that obnoxious* kind you hear on Christian Radio stations, although Kaci does quote some words from "Lord's Prayer" in reference to the chaos in the world today. The background choir mixed with the hard-rock electric guitar strums are what really get me. I said earlier that, "It's really a shame that Amazon.com doesn't have any samples for this song," but that complaint is no longer valid because it seems that all the songs have listenable samples, though by the time you read this, that might have changed again. I hope Amazon continues to keep all the samples because Intervention Divine might be the seller.
"Un Paraiso" is the Spanish version of "Paradise." I personally like it and think it fits right in the last track.

*Fans and singers of Christian Pop and Rock, please don't take offense. I simply just don't like that kind of music.

You know, they say ignorance is bliss, but sometimes it just makes you sound rude. Kaci covered "I Think I Love You" about a year before Katie Cassidy did it, and it was a top ten single in the UK. My personally opinion is Kaci's is better. I bought Katie's single, and it's not a very good cover of the song (I'm hoping her album will be better, I think she has potential). But getting back to Kaci..."I'm Not Anybody's Girl" is a great pop album. I don't know why you would buy it and not like it, but any fan of pop would thoroughly enjoy this album. My favorite tracks are "Tu Amor," "Beggin' Me," and "I'm Gonna Break Your Heart This Time." Kaci hasn't really blown up in the U.S. yet, but she's well on her way. Try her, you'll like her.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but don't expect anything groundbreaking., September 26, 2005
This review is from: I'm Not Anybody's Girl (Audio CD)
Kaci is your typical teen pop singer. She's got a cute face, fresh new bubbly songs and a colorful image. The music on this CD ranges from partially unique to partially bland, with nothing in between. All in all, it's not a bad CD...but it's not a great CD either. The songs have a Hispanic flavor to them, not unlike the ones of Myra's first CD. The best tracks are probably "I Think I Love You" and "Butterflies Don't Lie". If you're into spiritual music you may enjoy "Intervention Divine".

Songs like "Kiss Me Crazy" and "Beggin' Me" have hooks so repetative they get annoying. Still, "Kiss Me Crazy" has a sweet vibe to it that makes it likeable.

For a young girl, Kaci also seems to know a lot about relationships...that's mostly what she covers on this CD. There is nothing truly special she sings about other than crooning over a boy or crying over a break-up.

All in all....7/10 stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable pop, August 9, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: I'm Not Anybody's Girl (Audio CD)
Kaci's debut CD is enjoyable, if somewhat routine, pop music. Her songs are at least distinguishable from the music of the other so-called "pop princesses" out there. My favorite song on the album is the ballad "Butterflies Don't Lie." "I'm Not Anybody's Girl" and "Beggin' Me" are good too. Even though most people seem to disagree, I even like the cover of "I Think I Love You." I think it's cute. However, songs like "Paradise" and "Tu Amor" are weaker. And as a sidebar, on the track "All Over You" when Kaci says "Made up my mind, wasn't gonna do it" at the beginning, she sounds exactly like Dana Carvey's "not gonna do it" impersonation of George Bush Sr. on Saturday Night Live. So yeah I crack up every time I hear that, but otherwise this is a very good CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kaci -- she deserves more recognition!, February 1, 2004

This review is from: I'm Not Anybody's Girl (Audio CD)
I listened to the samples of this cd and read the reveiws. It looked really good and I searched everywhere for it. Nobody seemed to have it. I finally found it and asap i put it in my computer to listen to.

This is one of the best pop cd's I've heard in a while. Kaci isn't a pop singer with a weak voice with a totally computer wimp sound. She has a strong voice.

The songs on the cd are great too. They have a lot of spicy latin flavor. Some of them are more poppish than others, like Kiss Me Crazy, and she reminds me of Britney Spears in her earlier albums, but better.

I hope we hear more from Kaci soon! She should be really big.

My favorite songs on this CD would have to be Everlasting and Beggin Me. Beggin Me has this awesome beat and Everlasting showcases her sweet voice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Debut, August 6, 2002

I heard some clips of Kaci's songs, so when the album came out I went and bought it. At first I listened to it and didn't really like it, but the more I listened, the more I liked it. Kaci can sing, but I wish they would have showcased her voice a little more.

1. Paradise - This is a latin style song. She sounds great and it's a very catchy. Makes you think of the beach. 10/10

2. Kiss Me Crazy - At first I didn't really like this one but it's one of my favorites now. It's a pop song with a bit of a rock feel. 10/10

3. Butterflies Don't Lie - This is a pretty ballad, really the only one on the cd. They should have let Kaci do more because it really showcases her voice and she does well with it. 10/10

4. Tu Amor- This is a fast dance song. It has some spanish words thrown in it which makes it fun. 10/10

5. Everlasting- This song can get a little boring, but it's a pretty good song. Kind of medium tempo. 8/10

6. I Think I Love You - I really like this one. Especially the chorus. I like the piano in it and it's very catchy. I think it's a cover song, because I have heard it before. 10/10

7. Just An Old Boyfriend - This one is a slower tempo. Good song, with a catchy chorus and great vocals from Kaci on this one. 9/10

8. Beggin' Me - One of my favorites - very catchy. 'Don't come beggin' me, beggin' me, beggin' me, tryin' to get to me, get to me, get to me...'10/10

9. All Over You - Another favorite. I like how she sings the chorus and when she is arguing with herself in the middle of the song. 10/10

10. You Got Me - I love this one, the vocals in the chorus are really catchy, good up-tempo song. 10/10

11. I'm Not Anybody's Girl - Good message; about not being pushed around by your boyfriend. 9/10

12. I'm Gonna Break Your Heart This Time - This is one of my favorites. It's a catchy pop song. 'I'm gonna break your heart this time, my baby...' 10/10

13. Intervention Divine - This is the best song on the cd. It's different from the rest in the fact that it's not just another catchy pop song with fun lyrics. She is singing about the troubles in our world and how we need God to help us and lead us. 'Sarah's screaming, another daddy's leaving, how can this much hurt be justified? Frankie's a dealer, his nickname is the healer, he makes a living helping people die...' The chorus of the song reminds me of the Lord's Prayer in some parts. 'Circle us with angels, walk us through the danger, give us light to get us through the valley full of shadows and deliver us from evil, we are only people, you know we can't maker it on our own oh Lord we need intervention divine'. 10/10

14. Un Paraiso - Spanish version of Paradise. 10/10

5.0 out of 5 stars Surpasses all expectations, July 28, 2002
This review is from: I'm Not Anybody's Girl (Audio CD)
Kaci's debut album hit British shores a few months ago, but has yet to be released in the USA. The main point of concern with listeners of her material is that she is just another Britney clone. It's a shame that such stigma might hinder her chances of chart successes because Kaci is one of the best pop finds of the last year. Yes she's 13, yes she covered a song by David Cassidy, but there's more there, something which becomes apparent upon listening to the album. Using a mixture of Latin roots, pop, funk, dance and R&B each song stands alone as excellent.

It seems a shame that the infectious dance tracks were the ones released, each one excellent but not giving a true flavour of the album. On tunes such as 'Butterflies Don't Lie' Kaci shows impressive vocals with sweetly naive lyrics that thankfully don't try and bely her age. Other stand-out tracks include the harder-edged 'Kiss Me Crazy' and 'Beggin' Me', Latin pop number 'Tu Amor' and 'Intervention Divine', one of the few pop songs to get the balance right between singing of the miseries of the world without being overly preachy. In addition, it's got a fantastic dance beat, something certainly unusual given the perhaps surprising maturity of lyrics here.

The only time the album falters is on 'I Think I Love You', but the fact that the only bad track is a cover speaks volumes about the album's overall quality. Even 'I'm Not Anybody's Girl', the only track that shows elements of Christina Aguilera copycat, is so good that it's easy to forgive the odd steal. There will certainly be people out there that won't even consider buying this album, but it is completely worth it and will surpass all expectations because it is not only stunningly consistent but is actually better than Britney's first two albums as well as Christina's debut. She may be cheesy but you as soon as you slip the CD in you'll forget all that and just lose yourself in the irresistably catchy harmonies. Being so young it's a shame that Kaci doesn't look to be gaining the credibility she deserves, but for those who listen to this album it will be an awesome find. With a straight face I can say this is one of the best debut albums I have ever heard.
