Constant Fear "firmly places [author] Palmer alongside the likes of Harlan Coben and Lisa Gardner." — The Providence Journal

Book Description

First volume in a legal thriller trilogy. The sequel, Still Not Dead, published August 2013. Third volume, The Dead End, to be published Spring 2014.

The novels are works of fiction, although many events in these books were inspired by real events - so those who might suggest the characters or plots are unrealistic should bear in mind that truth is often stranger than fiction. These books explore how the human spirit handles tough issues, including domestic violence and mental illness.

After being stalked and shot by her former husband, Theia Pearson finishes law school and rebuilds her life as a divorce lawyer in St. Louis. Five years later, when a domestic abuse client disappears, Theia tries to find her, even though doing so triggers bad memories and nightmares. Theia has difficulty knowing whom to trust, when it becomes apparent the client’s disappearance is linked to Theia’s violent past, and that someone close to Theia has betrayed her.

NOT DEAD YET is a fast-paced legal thriller.

The author is a divorce lawyer and a special prosecutor in domestic violence court.

1.0 out of 5 stars worst book ever read March 28, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Decent plot almost, dialogue was forced, awkward and rudely stupid. Characters unbelievable and lame. Editing needed, many areas where things were repeated again in the next paragraph, very confusing.

Not Dead Yet grabbed me and didn't let me go. Having been in an abusive marriage for years I could identify with these characters. Very well written. More please!

This book was horrible. I hate to say that because I have read a bunch of crummy books I have enjoyed, but there is nothing redeemable about this book. Sorry.

2.0 out of 5 stars Did Not Finish February 22, 2013
By Suggies
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The first couple of chapters I was hooked, but as the book droned on I lost interest. The dialogue had no depth and the pace of the story line was to slow and had no desire to keep reading.

2.0 out of 5 stars not impressed February 18, 2013
By reader
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Glad to see I wasn't the only one not impressed. Thankfully thebook was only 210 pages and I still had trouble finishing it. The dialogue was repetitive and seemed to be a lot of filler just to stretch the book. The charachters were not sympathetic, the plot was predictible as was the ending. I would not recommend this book even if it is free. With so much to read out there, you could be reading something good so I wouldn't waste my time on this one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Unbelievable, not in a good way February 7, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I love these types of books but this was one of the worst ones I've read. The plot was completely unbelievable, the characters had no depth, it left too many loose ends and the author tries to tie everything up in a fairly tale ending.

Definitely sorry I wasted valuable reading time.

I DID NOT LIKE THE WAY THE STORY WAS WRITTEN. THE SUBJECT MATTER WAS NOT PRESENTED IN A BELIEVABLE MANNER. THE MAIN CHARACTER DID NOT ACT AS A REAL PERSON IN THAT SITUATION WOULD HAVE

The description of this book sounded interesting and it was free, so I got it. Currently am working on removing it. It was not a good read, very disappointing.

2.0 out of 5 stars Only OK.
While the subject matter needs to be discussed, this book got a little bit preachy. It also went on too long. It would be better if it was edited.
