I highly recommend this show for anyone who appreciates beautiful dancing. The acting is excellent too. I have no idea how they were able to cast such young people with this expertise in dancing who can also act. The relationships and character development are intriguing, as is the special circumstance these students find themselves in. It is not your action, adventure, thriller, street smart show. So don't get it if that is what you go for. It is wholesome yet edgey, and absolutely gorgeous to watch.

This is a young person series but, even being in my 60s, I loved it. Great acting and writing and a very moving story of the complexities of youth. A product of Australia, it shows much better values than the standard Hollywood portrayal of the young. It's about dance, predominantly ballet, but that's secondary to the human interest story. It's for everyone. I think it should be picked up by some Nick or Disney for their cable stations.

I was expecting this season to possibly be less well-produced than the first two, since the production was ending after the 13th episode. To my delight, this season is the most powerful and moving of all of them. It wraps up loose ends nicely, yet leaves the future open to speculate about the lives of some of the characters. The writing, acting, directing and photography is breathtaking. I feel ashamed of American television which wallows in depressing "reality TV" shows or shock-value programming. Dance Academy has true heart.

This show isn't for everyone, but if you enjoy watching plenty of dance and can deal with young adult drama, relationships, falling in out and of love, and the general theme of growing into adulthood, this is for you.
The drama is surprisingly well done with a mix of a good sense of humor and genuine feeling which really draws the viewer in so that each character becomes important.
This season touches on a few tough themes, but not as much as the first two seasons. It seems to be more wrapping up the future for everyone. I almost gave it five stars just because I am such a fan of the show (I am an adult, but my sixteen year old loves it, and it is probably geared toward that age range...I have no shame watching it LOL), but I thought this season lacked a little of the depth of other seasons.
Sadly, there won't be a fourth season, and that may be my biggest criticism of this season...there were too many bows being tied to neatly wrap up everyone's lives.
But still loved it!

The show is fantastic and has you on the edge of your seat. It is not the usual predictable show. I will watch it again.
