Book Description

Ashton and Mallory Simms got married late in life. They went to high school together but lost touch after until their fifteen year high school reunion. Mallory was an English teacher at Troy High School and Ashton was a county prosecutor who gets elected as county judge. They date, fall in love, and marry.
Mallory becomes pregnant right away but miscarries. They try again and Mallory becomes pregnant again only to miscarry again.
After two miscarriages the doctor says that Mallory will not conceive again due to excessive scarring of her uterus caused by the miscarriages, but she does. The doctor gives them a choice to make that is a matter of life and death.
Faced with a choice that no couple should be forced to make, it jeopardizes their marriage, their love, and everything they believe. Ashton had stopped believing in a God and to him this just proves his point. Mallory had grown up in a religious family and feels that everything happens for a reason.
As their marriage continues to falter, Mallory moves in with her parents. Ashton had never gotten along with Mallory’s parents and does not think that they should be interfering. Ashton who sits on a bench and decides the fates of people who break the law now has to make a decision that no law school could have prepared him for. Mallory is in a classroom all day educating and preparing her students for the world but no classroom time could have prepared her for this.
But as time goes on, they will realize that the only way they will get through this is by putting their own selfishness aside and coming together for the sake of another life.
It will raise a controversial question. What would you do when the issue you face is not just a choice but an unborn child?

More About the Author

I am Shari Mong and I was born in Troy, Ohio. I had started writing poetry in the mid 90s and my first poem 'Heaven's Door' was published by the International Society of Poets in 2004. I won an Outstanding Achievement award for it and later in 2007 was published in a book entitled, 'Collection of Poetry.' I then began three years later in writing novels. I enjoy writing because it is something that I love to do.
