Spiritual Journey,
By A. Davis (Baton Rouge, LA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Not Knowing Where (Paperback)
I have read this book at the beginning of the year for the past 6 years. I find that as Oswald takes me on a journey through the lives of the patriarchs (Noah, Abraham, Jacob, and Joseph)in the book of Genesis, it is actually a portrait my life. All of the weaknesses, blunders, fears, failures, trials, temptations, and disappointments the patriarchs faced, I face them as well. Yet, Oswald makes it very clear that the God who initiated the relationship with these patriarchs also took the responsibility for keeping them. This book gives me so much comfort because it makes very clear the intimacy God desires in a relationship with men. Moreover, he does not want our weaknesses, failures, blunder, etc. to be a hinderance in our relationship with him, but a stepping stone into deeper intimacy; and indication of how much we really need him. I think this book must be read meditatively, and with a heart seeking intimacy with God.

Deeply Moving,
By Jon Saboe "Author of 'The Days of Peleg' and ... (Baltimore, MD USA) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Not Knowing Where (Paperback)
This book provides amazing spiritual and meditative insights into the role that faith played in the lives of the early patriarchs. In addition to the devotional qualities in each chapter, we get to travel into Abram's thoughts as he gradually develops his awareness of the Creator and His character. Although intended as an uplifting personal resource in the development of one's faith, "Not Knowing Where" is also a powerful apologetic for the presence and omniscience of God.
