Glenn Medeiros still Da Man!,
By Sabrina Hoornaert (Middelkerke, Belgium) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Not Me (Audio CD)
This is Glenn's second album, released in 1988 when he was only 18 (actually, this one in particular is a Japanese import). It was his breakthrough album in many parts of the world and has some really fine pop songs. Of course, there are some of his biggest hits there such as "Long and lasting love", "Love always finds a reason" (the version here is the English version sung with Elsa), "Never get enough of you", and a wonderful re-recorded (and more powerful) "Nothing's gonna change my love for you", but I always thought "Someday love" and "Not me" where the real classics on the album. No, this is not Glenn's best album as of yet (if you want to know what the guy is REALLY all about, you should check out "It's alright to love" (1993) or his latest album, "Captured" (1999)), but it was a milestone in his career. I can tell you that Glenn (now 31) has become a very talented singer/songwriter, and has one of the best male voices around. He can do what George Michael can (tho his work is not as known as George's): he's gifted both with his voice as well as with his mind (writing and composing), and if you want to hear an artist who puts his heart and soul into his music, you'll find the right answer in Glenn Medeiros. My two favourite artists? Glenn Medeiros and George Michael. Da Glennster and Yog. At least THEY know how to make real music! Just my two cents. Glenn, you go for it!!

Great Lovesongs,
By A Customer

Being a Fan of Love songs, This has some of the best ones. The Remake of " Long and lasting love" , The Duet "Love alwayd finds a reason" and "You're my woman. You're my lady", my personal favorite from the album. The rest is average music. A must hear.

Kayak,
By Harold Soepenberg (Stroeks, Den Ham, The Netherlands) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Not Me (Audio CD)
Although Madeiros' duet with the dutch Ria Brieffies (lead singer of the worldfamous dutch band the Dolly Dots) is an absolute beauty, this record does not even match his dutch counterpart, Kayak... In comparison Kayak has a much better grip of love songs, and the way they interpret them is that much more convinced and sensitive, that Madeiros can't stand in their shadow.

My opinion of Glenn Madeiros,
By Harold Soepenberg (Stroeks, Den Ham, The Netherlands) - See all my reviews

Although I've always been a fan of Glenn Madeiros (especially his duet with the dutch Ria Brieffies (member of the very famous dutch popgroup the Dolly Dots)), I must say this album isn't one of his greatest... Does the term Worst album in the world ... EVER mean anything to you. But, if one should like to listen to Madeiros' greatest hit, Nothing's gonna change my love for you, one might want to try the dutch counterpart: Kayak.
