Good adjunct to The Little Red Hen,

This video plays the story of the title twice. One time there are subtitles and the other not. The action takes place mostly with cartoons although there are some beautiful shots of farms and country scenes. The story is quite similar to the Little Red Hen. All the barnyard animals are there and each has an excuse whose last word rhymes with its name. I use this video with beginning ESL students after reading and discussing The Little Red Hen. We talk about the similarities and differences between the stories. We also discuss the pictures and rhymes. It has never failed to delight.
