When I'm not writing fiction, I masquerade as a shift supervisor at a local Starbucks where I eavesdrop on the customers to cull future story ideas. One of my customers encouraged me to make things up in reply to his casual, "How are you?" or "What's happening?" greetings. Every day I try to come up with something new for him like, "Well, the good news is, I'm not being charged with a felony." I'm a fiction writer. I should be able to come up with something more interesting than my actual day-to-day life provides. A Month From Miami is an unapologetic beach read. Sometimes we all need escapist fiction that doesn't make us think too hard. Not Quite Heaven is the first book I independently published.

NOT QUITE HEAVEN is a contemporary romance with a bit of suspense and lots of sexual attraction between the hero and heroine, Ian and Melissa. Ian, a best-selling author has faced tragedy that has left him bitter and angry, blaming himself for past mistakes. As a favor to Ian's agent, Melissa (a writer herself) tries to help Ian find motivation and passion for his manuscript in progress. Snowed in at Ian's house in Maine, they begin to care deeply about each other. But, as in every romance, there are obstacles. And, as with suspense, there is danger. But a happily-ever-after ending isn't far behind.
