Book Description

When the Barrington family lawyer becomes suspicious after an unusual accident ex-soldier James Geraghty was hired as a replacement bodyguard for heiress Aden Barrington. What he didn’t expect was having to deal with her strange fantasy life where she renames those in her world.
Finding herself attracted to James, Aden finally withdraws from her dream world to accept the dangers associated with her inheritance. James discovers himself struggling to keep Aden safe while coping with her strange and deadly family. He would be far more confident if her eyes were not the colour of honey and her hair a halo of sunshine.

He had given up on love—she had given up on life. Not Really Mr. Smith— a unique love story.

This book is an excellent read that will keep you engrossed and on the edge of your seat to the very end. Lively characters and an engaging story combine danger and a growing romance between the woman in danger and the man hired to protect her.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not Really Mr. Smith is an engaging tale January 25, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Not Really Mr. Smith is a well-written & engaging tale. I found myself smiling at the playfulness portrayed at times. The romance was there, but it didn't overwhelm the rest of the story.
After Aden's mother's death, unable to cope she withdraws from reality. So much so that she even feels the need to rename everyone she meets.
When a young man is hired to protect her from a imminent threat, Aden is intrigued by him, and therefore comes slowly back to her true self through love and fear.
I found a few typos in my version of the book, which pulled me out of the story for a second, but otherwise it was thoroughly enjoyable.

2.0 out of 5 stars Cute but not ready to be published August 9, 2012
By CeciM
Format:Kindle Edition
Stilted writing, contrived plot, & silly premise. Somehow, the characters are still likable and the story is readable, but barely. I hope this author comes back and rewrites this after she has more experience because she does show promise. The heiress' problem is totally silly and unbelievable, I think, especially given her family resources and the time span. The hero's conflict is believable, but therefore his sudden fall for the heiress is unlikely. This felt like a novice effort or a writing exercise. If you got this book for free, and you have time to kill, you may not feel like you wasted your time.

1.0 out of 5 stars Lame book
I can only read about 'golden flecks' in her hair, eyes, where ever so many times before I want to gag. Totally predictable and boring. Sorry I wasted time reading the book.

I read the ending, and then I was done. There are so many ridiculous typos in the book and though that normally does not bother me, they even tripped up my reading experience. Read more
