Both generations love it!,

I, too, first heard the title song for this CD while visiting Germany over the summer. Both my 16 year old daughter and I fell in love with the song. I bought us each the single and later found this CD prior to coming home. I bought one for each of us and my daughter listens to hers daily. I play mine in my car all of the time I am out and about. My daughter tells all of her friends "Listen closely, you're hearing the next great diva!" I couldn't agree more. She has a tremendous voice and the songs are great. Even I, a child of the 70's, can enjoy this music.

A New Superstar,

When I first heard Anastacia, I thought it was Taylor Dayne, & with a smimilar voice which could knock a bull over, this debut album packs a real punch & covers a plethora of musical styles. The neo-funk of the album's title-track opener is a catchy affair & is built upon by the world-wide smash of the first single, I'm Outta Love, which is a rollercoaster ride of a song which makes you wanna move. The remainder of the album however is not an entirely uptempo affair, but what it dies reveal is the textured richness of Anastacia's voice and captivating balladry. With all songs co-written by the gal herself ( and a notable collaboration with Sturken & Rogers), Anastacia has proven herself to be a woman with a sense of orientation as well as talent, which will help her & Sony bring her to the top of her game. Watche this space.

Anastacia is the best new female vocalist out there now!,

I absolutely love this CD. I remember seeing her on MTV and hearing her voice for the first time. I remember thinking to myself "She's going to make it someday". And she did! She has a CD and a fabulous voice to boot. This CD is a must for anyone that likes soul (she sounds like Tina Turner/ Arethra Franklin) with a pop-rock edge.

Absolutely beautiful!,

This album is, in my opinion, one of the years best. It starts on a high note, letting Anastacia show off her beautiful voice in the powerful "Not That Kind", moves to a great groove in "I'm Outta Love", and keeps it going strong with such fantastic tracks as "Cowboys & Kisses", "Made For Lovin' You" and "Love Is Alive". "I Ask Of You" still gives me chills; this song is destined to be played at weddings for years to come. Buy this album!

It's not at all clear why Anastacia - an American, after all - hasn't already taken America by storm. Like the Fun Loving Criminals, she's big news the other side of the pond, but unlike the FLC, her potential stateside is, as far as I can see, unlimited. Like all latter-day pop stars, she has flawless good looks; like hardly any she writes her own material; like even fewer her songs are fantastic, and like no other, she can sing like STINK. The title track sets the pace: a tight, funky single shot through with attitude which completely belies the fact that it is being sung by a skinny little white girl. Good god this woman has a set of pipes. Comparisons are inevitably difficult, but I put her somewhere between Tina Turner and Gloria Gaynor. Now, there's only been one white artist who could sing like a black artist before, and he did alright for himself. (Stay away from the burgers, girl!) The flaw which deprives this album of its fifth star is the (overly glossy) production, and the curious decision to use a synth bass instead of a real one. If Not That Kind had a more honest, real-life feel to it - were it aimed at the Rock/Blues market and not the pop one, it would be a genuine world beater. As it is you git the feeling she's positioned herself in the market against Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears, which is a real pity, because she's well out of their league. With any luck it'll be the next album which proves this. I'm sure looking forward to finding out.

Not The KInd Of Music To Dismiss,

Anastacia is a welcome change to what is about at the moment. I bought the album after not being able to get Not That Kind Out Of My Head, and im glad that i did. From the first track Not That Kind and to the last track Same Old Story, Anastacia shows why the whole of Europe is loving her music. There are great stand out tracks like Im Outta LOve and Love Is Alive and there are plenty of other good songs like Wishing Well, One More Chance and I Ask Of You. This is a great album and should be appreciated by everyone

This young woman can really belt out a song. I remember first seeing her on an MTV show hosted by TLC's Left Eye a couple of years ago and being thoroughly blown away by Anastacia's voice and stage presence. She may not have won the record contract at the end of the season of that show but she definitely had the voice and stage presence to attract the interest of Epic Records. Anastacia's powerful vocals reminds me a bit of Kristine W., another favorite female vocalist. Nowadays most female vocalists tend to either sound like a rodent with their measly squeaking or oversing to a point of sounding like a foghorn. Not Anastacia, she has full control of her voice and has the power to belt out sounds like "Not That Kind" and "I'm Outta Love". Her ballds are great too. I really like "Cowboys & Kisses". I can see great things for Anastacia if her record company actually utilizes this talented artist.

Becomes your favorite CD as soon as it comes home. This voice is in no way standard pop material...it almost doesn't belong in Anastacia's body - - she gives it to her art, doesn't own it. It's exalted music, the place after anger and poetry, before peace and wholeness, it's a sound we haven't quite heard before, but always thought we should. Buy this CD, if it's the only one you buy this year.

I absolutely love this CD. I remember seeing her on MTV and hearing her voice for the first time. I remember thinking to myself "She's going to make it someday". And she did! She has a CD and a fabulous voice to boot. This CD is a must for anyone that likes soul (she sounds like Tina Turner/ Arethra Franklin) with a pop-rock edge). Her dusky deep voice seems to overpower even the highest and hardest of notes to sing. Her CD ranges from the Soul R&B flavored "Outta Love", "Not that Kind", and "Love Is Alive". To the more soothful & soulful "One More Chance" & "I Ask Of You" ("IAOF" contains some of the most powerhouse vocals I have heard in a long time), this artist is definetly going to be one of the greats.
