bill, hoaky & chris meet dickenson-mayhem ensews!, June 30, 2001
This review is from: Not of This World (Audio CD)
and we are the richer for it. this is dash's third release, the first with drummer chris luckette, replacing the embarassment that was (and is) fred leblanc, and the first to show just how much rocking dash is capable of. the band teamed up with legendary memphis producer jim dickenson, and it remains the best job behind the desk they've had yet. whats more, the cd is filled with classic tracks-bum for egypt, string you up, dont wanna stop, under the jail-every last one of them pure stompers. throw in some not sappy country flavored ballads, including the rollicking jolie & beautiful promenade. this is a result of one of those rare moments when all comes together and makes you realize why you like rock and roll so much. plus, hoaky is probably drunk!

Let Her Rip Guys !, April 12, 2004
This review is from: Not of This World (Audio CD)
From start to finish not a single track that disrupts or discredits this band's high rockin' energy flow ! The hooks, the lyrics, and the beat make for some of the most awesome loud stereo playin' to bring the house down (any house)...These guys have that special something that deserves and commands notice. EVERYTHING on this disc is so damn catchy and highly enjoyable.A mix of alternative with some undertones of hard rockin' country and you can even hear undertones of blues ( listen carefully and you'll know what I mean). The first track kicks things off with a dose of tongue and cheek play with words (and due to censorship, the actual title is not Bum For Egypt---but something a little more catchy) ! Nof Of This World by Dash Rip Rock has become an all time favorite disc of mine that gets frequent play in my machine !...

The best DRR disc, May 18, 1999
This review is from: Not of This World (Audio CD)
"Not of This World" is, quite simply, DRR's best recording. A blast from start to finish, the disc kicks off with the ripping "Bum For Egypt" (delicately re-titled to avoid the censor's button) and doesn't let up thereafter except for a well-placed ballad, "Little Girl Blue," and an Xmas tune, "Christmas in El Paso." Heartily recommended for anyone who loves Southern fried rock with a dash (no pun intended) of humor.
