This review is from: Not without dust and heat: A memoir (Hardcover)
This is the most comprehensive biography of James Luther Adams available...at least that I have found thus far. Please note, the Seminary Cooperative in Chicago carries this title for only about [...]!!! and they will ship it to you anywhere in the United States for only about [...]!!! So please, please, please do not purchase this work for more than [...]without first checking with the Seminary Cooperative. Their website is: http://www.semcoop.booksense.com

5.0 out of 5 stars from jacket, October 2, 2009
This review is from: Not without dust and heat: A memoir (Hardcover)
from jacket

"James Luther Adams has been described as one of the three most significant figures in the history of the Unitarian Universalist denomination by the eminent church historian George Huntston Williams. One of the giants in the Christian social ethics in his generation, Adams was instrumental in introducing Paul Tillich and Ernst Troeltsch to America. His doctoral students have taken significant teaching positions and ethics throughout the country.

Adams gave the closing decade of his life to reflect in a memoir upon his own development as a Christian, and scholar, and activist. he provides a significant account of his development from a Plymouth brethren childhood to becoming a Unitarian minister and scholar".
