This review is from: Notable American Women: The Modern Period: A Biographical Dictionary (Notable American Women) (Paperback)
This biographical dictionary covers the lives and achievements of 442 outstanding American women in the late nineteenth to mid-twentieth centuries whose death dates were between 1951 and 1975. Entrees are from one page to several pages in length. I was pleased to read about actress Julie Garland and author Laura Ingalls Wilder, as well as three President's wives, Grace Coolidge, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Edith Wilson. This is a very helpful resource for locating information on many important women, some of whom are not found in other sources. It also includes a section of 30 black and white photographs.
