BEST for studying to pass NYS notary exam!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Notary Public Handbook : A Guide for New York (4th Ed.) (Paperback)
The FOUR practice exams are awesome! They are styled just like the state exams and even have answers and explanations for every question. The 160 practice questions helped me pass the state exam with flying colors. Piombino writes in easy-to-understand, plain English. The book illustrations are helpful to better understand the concepts, too. I learned so much more than I thought I ever would. Even my friend (a New York notary) liked it. She found the latest, New York law changes in the book especially helpful for her job. ANYONE preparing for the New York State exam needs THIS book! Recommended highly!

Useful information,

The book has very practical information on the functions of a notary. There's also detail on the legal background. There's a lot that I never realized about what notaries can/can't do, nor did I know the details behind the proper procedures a notary should follow. Good stuff.

Great book and the practice exams are a MUST HAVE. If you get the opportunity, you should take one of his seminars--this guy's a trip.
PS I read the book, took all the practice exams and passed the exam!!!!

Great Reference Book!,

This review is from: Notary Public Handbook : A Guide for New York (4th Ed.) (Paperback)
I bought this book two days before I took my New York Notary Public Exam, and I only spent a night to study the Q&A (there were four parts of more than 20 questions in each part), and I passed!
This is also a very good reference book, and I've been using it for quick reference for the past six years. The book has very accurate information. Why I know? Some of my experienced Notary Public colleagues were once skeptical about some of the information the author mentioned, and when I called the New York State Department for Notary Public, I was given an answer exactly as the author said.

This book was purchased for our public library. The book is such poor condition that I can't even use it for our collection. It was library money thrown out the window. I knew that I was purchasing a used book, but for $53.00 I didn't think that it would have so many marks, notes and highlighted sections in the book. Every page had some mark or notation on it which I think would reduce the price of the book but the seller apparently didn't think so. I would not buy from this seller again.
