5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding value, fun to play....
This is an amazing deal, and a fun product to introduce children to music with. The mallets it came with are one piece (no choking hazard from the ball coming off the end) and the unit sounds great. It is the best "bell set" (glockenspeil) we have found for kids, and adults, at anywhere near the price point. Recommend, A+.

3.0 out of 5 stars not tuned well
I bought this product based on other customer reviews. While it is made well, the tuning is horrible. What is supposed to sound like an octave, comes out sounding almost a half note off! It is hard on the ears from that respect. The words on the outside of the box are written in such poor English that it is nearly impossible to understand what they are trying to say,...

I bought this for myself a couple of months ago and I couldn't be more pleased. It has a beautiful sound and the value is unbeatable, I've seen this same model sell for 4x the price at auction. It's not just for children but also for anyone who wants to learn to play this kind of instrument.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a 5-Star Review, May 24, 2007
This review is from: 25 Note (G-G) Bell Set with Case (Standard)
The LMI Glockenspiel (Bells set) is made in Korea, and is a real bargain. The glockenspiel is two octaves chromatic, from G-G. The steel bars are silver-plated for a shiny, reflective appearance.

I'm a pro percussionist and pro percussion teacher. I bought an LMI Glockenspiel for a trial, and then bought 6 more. The price was so low ($15) for a set of bells with a hard plastic case, that I wanted more. I gave them as drawing prizes at a student percussion contest.

The glock is very portable, and is light weight, considering that it has steel bars. Most bells sets in the $150-$500 range have aluminum bars. Aluminum bars are OK for a bells set, but steel gives a greater projection, and steel bars "cut through" an entire orchestra.

This is a table-top bells set. You open it up, the top of the case becomes a music stand, and the bells set has feet to set it above the table, for better projection.

A pair of flexible shaft bell mallets, made of hard plastic, are included with the set, and they store easily inside the case.

This is an excellent sounding set of bells, at a very low price. I recommend it for new bells students on a tight budget. I use the LMI Glock when traveling, for practice, and also for teaching in a small room, at a music instrument retail store. I only wish it had 2.5 octaves range.

John Broecker.

I bought this product based on other customer reviews. While it is made well, the tuning is horrible. What is supposed to sound like an octave, comes out sounding almost a half note off! It is hard on the ears from that respect. The words on the outside of the box are written in such poor English that it is nearly impossible to understand what they are trying to say, though that isn't very important. The mallets were very difficult to get out from under the bars, which is how it comes packed. I was afraid they would break because I had to bend them so far to get them out, but luckily, they didn't.

My brother wanted me to order this for our 14 month old daughter for Christmas. Well, we tested it out, and love it! The sound quality is superb for a first instrument. The instrument itself is a small version, which is perfect for a child to use. The only thing we will do different is get her safe mallets for a toddler.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Musical "Toy" for toddlers!, June 3, 2006

This review is from: 25 Note (G-G) Bell Set with Case (Standard)
I say toy, because as the other reviewers noted - it isn't a toy but a professional instrument. I bought this for my 18 month nephew, and it was his favorite present...along with the maracas and slighbell wristbands I got him. I am surprised I was let back in their house. But the unit was shipped quickly, and packs up easily, sliding into a bookcase. It also is durable and will take a kid's banging. The tones are absolutely beautiful and clear, and it is 9.99...what else you could you want??? I would recommed getting more that one, because I have bought it 3x since giving it to him, for other gifts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Buy!, June 17, 2007

We love our LMI 25 NOTE BELL SET (xylophone / glockenspiel)!

It was inexpensive. I looked at similarly priced but inferior products in local stores before I decied to try mail order.

It comes from an Amazon partner, but arrived very promptly and very well packaged. One reviewer expressed concern about how the mallets were packed. I had a brief moment of concern, but the mallets are flexible and slide out. We sometimes store them as the instrument arrived, with the mallets tucked under the bars.

It has been sturdy enough to stand up to two months of a toddler playing with it steadily, and still looks and sounds great. The notes are clear and pretty. The instrument is well tuned enough that an adult can play simple tunes and enjoy them.

If you have been looking, as I was, for a simple but in-tune XYLOPHONE for your child, then the LMI 25 NOTE BELL SET is a great buy!

It arrived safe and sound as scheduled. As soon as I got the package I opened it and tried it out. I was surprised by the quality of the sound. It makes clear sounds and resonates beautifully. I love how the keys are arranged too like a real piano keys are it allows me to play variety of songs. The price is so reasonable, too. It's more like a real instrument rather than just a toy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Musical Instrument for the young and old!, March 29, 2007
This review is from: 25 Note (G-G) Bell Set with Case (Standard)
Musicians Friend delivered my Glockenspiel promptly.

LMI 25 Note Bell Set with Case G-G

I busted my new Glockenspiel out of the box and immediately started to wonder what kind of music I could produce.I played 'Silent Night' and a couple of Japanese tunes I wrote.

Wow!!! My father, of 76 years, could not wait to get his hands on it. He played 'Revelie'. He loves it!

The Glockenspiel is a magnificant addition to my musical instrument collection and will be used often because of its wonderful sound.

The hard plastic mallets were very easy to remove from underneath the keys.I had absolutely no problem.

This makes a great gift for all ages to enjoy!

Our granddaughter loves striking notes on this, and she is only 1 year old. Everyone comments on the lovely sound, and I like the fact that the notes are layed out like a piano keyboard.
