Terrific Value/Worthwhile purchase, June 21, 2006

These "Great Sessions" box sets are a wonderful value. My only problem is that on many of them (Miles and Cannonball, for example) I already own one of the CDs, making it a less worth while purchase.
However, with this boxed set, you are getting three classic and important albums for less than $10 apiece, all beautifully remastered by Rudy Van Gelder himself. You can check out the individual album pages for more on each release, but this is a great gift for budding jazz fans and a good purchase for music fans in general. I'm very pleased.
