Book Description

June 1, 2009
Written by Alane Pearce, Notes from the Margins is a heartfelt account of the author's journey through sorrow, pain and suffering. She takes the reader through every emotion that she felt; as she dealt with the deep emotional reality of losing her newborn son, nearly losing her life three times, and losing seven early pregnancies. Alane Pearce weaves meaning into each trial that she faced, embracing the reality of her experiences and letting God get the glory for the work that He did in her through the times of sorrow. Her message is one of encouragement, inspiration, humility and joy. Anyone struggling with life's tough questions: Why me? Where is God? Is there hope? How can I move on? will find hope in this book. This book will touch those who have ever experienced loss, suffered from grief or wondered where God was in the midst of trial.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book!, June 24, 2010
By
This review is from: Notes from the Margins: Healing Conversations with God (Paperback)
The first few chapters give you a very clear picture of the pain and sadness the author went through as a Christian not understanding why God would do this to her. It is just so well written you really could feel her hopelessness. And even if you don't have the same trials you can relate. But then she starts to realize that God doesn't work in the way that we would have Him. We have to have faith and believe that He does love us no matter what trials we have in this life. Because He truely does. The last few chapters were my favorite. The "how to" of it all. She lays it all out very clearly in a way anyone could comprehend. I love the verses she uses and writes out (not just the verse number) to back up all that she says. It is just so well written and easy to understand. Keeps you wanting to read and learn more. Definately a keeper.

This book gave great meaning to certain comforting scripture from the Bible. I'm not so sure if you've not experienced some sort of loss that this book would be for you though. Weepy in parts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Life changing and life giving., December 16, 2009

This review is from: Notes from the Margins: Healing Conversations with God (Paperback)
Notes from the Margins is hands-down one of the most moving, powerful and personal accounts of pain and healing I have ever read. Alane takes her readers on a journey through loss, grief, and ultimately, the spiritual wholeness ...that can only come through God and His Word. A life-changing, life-giving book.
