The first few chapters give you a very clear picture of the pain and sadness the author went through as a Christian not understanding why God would do this to her. It is just so well written you really could feel her hopelessness. And even if you don't have the same trials you can relate. But then she starts to realize that God doesn't work in the way that we would have Him. We have to have faith and believe that He does love us no matter what trials we have in this life. Because He truely does. The last few chapters were my favorite. The "how to" of it all. She lays it all out very clearly in a way anyone could comprehend. I love the verses she uses and writes out (not just the verse number) to back up all that she says. It is just so well written and easy to understand. Keeps you wanting to read and learn more. Definately a keeper.

This book gave great meaning to certain comforting scripture from the Bible. I'm not so sure if you've not experienced some sort of loss that this book would be for you though. Weepy in parts.

Notes from the Margins is hands-down one of the most moving, powerful and personal accounts of pain and healing I have ever read. Alane takes her readers on a journey through loss, grief, and ultimately, the spiritual wholeness ...that can only come through God and His Word. A life-changing, life-giving book.

Wow! What a story!! I laughed and cried throughout my reading of Notes. So much pain, yet so much healing by our faithful Father. It forced me to come face to face with my own resolved greif from a variety of life challenges and disappointments. I'm now working through the Companion Study Guide, Comparing Notes: A Bible Study exploring God's Presence in Life's Trials. I recommend both to anyone who has ever suffered loss. Let God speak to you through the lessons Alane learned in her conversations with God.

It is so special in so may ways.
I love the scriptures. I loved everything about the book. Alane Pearce has many gifts and anyone who reads this book will be blessed by her gift.
The book is going to be such a wonderful tool and resource for so many people. I already have bought 2 books for the top 2 people in my heart and prayer list. (One just lost her husband to cancer and the other just found out her husband cheated on her and she is filing for divirce) I can't wait to tell so many other people to go BUY this book. It is a MUST!!! Alane will show you how to survive in this world and keep the faith!!! God is so good!!!
