This is pretty good for making a game out of piano theory (which I remember as being horribly boring in my childhood). The characters and games would only appeal to a young audience, probably no more than 8 years old or so.

Notespeller a Great Companion to Piano Instruction,

My son's piano teacher asked me to buy the Notespeller series to accompany his lessons. It is an opportunity for him to reinforce his lessons without actually sitting at the piano. The books focus on learning to read music - it's less intrument-specific and instead strengthens his ability to master the music itself. The activities on each page could be called "games" I guess, but they are more like kindergarten-level worksheets where you fill in the blank, circle the correct answer, etc. My 6-year-old son described the work as "interesting" and I would classify it as engaging. This book 1 is a great introduction, and in my opinion, and outstanding companion to the beginning piano player's instruction. Can't go wrong!

I got this book for several of my students who have played for 2 or 3 years to use as a reminder of what they've learned. It's very colorful and the instructions are easy to understand. My students are having fun with it.

I recently gave in to a friend's plea to teach piano to her little one. Piano is not my main instrument and I haven't taught it for years. My internet hunt brought me to this Hal Leonard series. It's a joy to teach. My little student says piano is his favorite thing!
