Biography

"Unmistakable riffs, mindf**k drumming and classic songs--they've opened too many doors to mention. Badasses."

--Dave Grohl, Foo Fighters

"In the pantheon of modern metal, Anthrax are certainly a cornerstone, and if one listens, one can hear their influence on any number of up-and-coming bands of the new generation."

- Kirk Hammett, Metallica

4.0 out of 5 stars Remember Tomorrow, May 23, 2006
This review is from: Nothing (Audio CD)
Nothing was the single release from Anthrax's 1995 album Stomp 442, the band's second album with former Armored Saint mainman John Bush on vocals. Nothing is a good example of the kind of music you'd find on Stomp 442 - uncompromising heavy metal at a time when whiny alterna-rock reigned.

The disc features the album version of "Nothing", a remix of "Fueled", another Stomp 442 song, and the song "Grunt & Click", which was later added to the Stomp 442 reissue. Since these songs appear elsewhere, or aren't that interesting in the first place (what good are remixes of metal songs anyway?), they really don't add much value to this single.

Like so many other import CD-singles, this pretty much comes down to one non-album track. In this case it is a cover of the Iron Maiden classic "Remember Tomorrow". Anthrax's take on the song is faithful to the original until about halfway through, when they seriously pick up the pace (this is Anthrax after all). The well executed cover song makes this import single worth picking up, but only if you're a serious Anthrax fan.

The track listing for the German import on Elektra Records is as follows:

1. Nothing
2. Fueled (Remix)
3. Remember Tomorrow
4. Grunt & Click
