I would've given it a full 5 stars if werent for the fact that most long time Guetta fans will be a bit disappointed.
If youre a long time house lover, look no further because youll feel betrayed with his new cd, full of more pop and hip hop elements.
However, any casual listener or pop lover (like me) will have a blast with this new record! Its full of promising top 40 hits and makes a good party mix.

Nothing But The Beat starts out with the two quick hit singles, "Where Them Girls At" (featuring Flo Rida and Nicki Minaj) and "Little Bad Girl" (featuring Taio Cruz and Ludacris). These two party jams and gems definetely make this CD, theyll be spun the most. Track 3 is the catchy yet easily forgettable "Turn Me On" (featuring, you guessed it, princess Nicki Minaj). Next is a Snoop Dogg remix originally produced by David Guetta, mostly instrumentl and might please original DG fans a little more. (Oh yeah, its called "Sweat"). Track 5, "Without You" (featuring Usher) is a definite highlight that no type of music listener will resist. Great vocals and touching lyrics. Tracks 6 and 7 are what will really piss off long time Guetta fans. Titled "Nothin Really Mattters"(featuring will.i.am.) and "I Can Only Imagine" (featuring Chris Brown and Lil Wayne). Although Chris's singing is a nice touch, both tracks are heavily auto-tuned and take part in the new hip hop/dance craze. I like them, but most wont. The next song, "Crank It Up" (featuring Akon) is worthy for a one time listen. Otherwise its more of an annoyance hearing it. Track 9, "I Just Wanna F.", (featuring Timbaland and Dev) is a collab of both Guetta's and Timbaland's mixing. VERY ANNOYING. Sounds nothing like DG, more like Missy-era beats. Avoid It, its the only song here I have to say is just TRASH. I Think where this record really shines is the last few tracks, "Night of Your Life" (featuring Jennifer Hudson), "Repeat" (featuring new star Jessie J), and "Titanium" (featuring Sia). These last three tracks are all brilliant dance cuts, with powerful vocals and meaningful lyrics.

Disc 2, with guest mixing from Afrojack and Avicii, will please the hardcore house audience. All 6 tracks, "Lunar", "Sunshine", "Toy Story", "The Future", "Paris" and "Glasgow" are all longer, sunny instrumental dance tracks. I highly recommend spending a few extra bucks on the deluxe version so you can get these 6 worthy compositions.

By the way, If you use itunes, theres an exclusive Nothing But the Beat track called "Im A Machine" featuring Crystal Nicole. GET IT!!!! its a massive club banger!

The album's fun to listen to, hearing contributions from cool A-list stars like Nicki Minaj, Usher, Afrojack, Jessie J, Akon and more.

Overall, your reaction to Nothing But The Beat just depends on your taste. As Ive mentioned MILLIONS of times, all pop, dance, and hip hop lovers will have a few favorites, while strict David Guetta fans will be very displeased. Thanks for reading, hope it helped your purchase blah blah blah.

Love it! September 1, 2011
Format:MP3 Download
For the hardcore Guetta fans out there, this album seems to offer a little bit of everything for everyone. Disc 1 includes the poppy collaborations we're familiar with over the span of the last few albums but disc 2 offers an awesome set assisted by Afrojack for a energetic music riot. If I had one gripe it might be the song "Repeat" with Jessie J (but this could be because I don't entirely like her music to begin with) but Jennifer Hudson's vocals on "Night of Your Life" are fantastic. Dev also gets in on the action with Timbaland, Justin Timberlake and Afrojack to produce a fun, Dev-typical song. If you like David Guetta already, you need this album. If you're just starting to like electronic music with hip-hop influences, you'll probably benefit from getting this album. Its not Tiesto or Armin Van Buren by any stretch of the imagination, but it also doesn't disappoint.

Massively Disappointed September 5, 2011
Format:MP3 Download
One Love rocked.... it was a great balance of pop, techno, dance and had really nice variety from track to track so it was fun to listen to. For Nothing but the Beat, there seems to be a conscious decision to use the same formula for every track - it gets stale - very quickly. Without You (feat. Usher) is nice. But imo, there is a complete sell to poppy/trashy lyrics "atypical": Where Them Girls At, Night of your Life, I'm a Machine, I Just Wanna F. type of songs that unless you're 18 and hot to chase tail, this isn't an album for you. Bummer because One Love was such a great work to release crap like this right after is a lost opportunity.

Guetta album
This album is good. Majority of songs are good. Guetta does not disappoint. :) Better to buy the album than per song for better value.
