The best new Bonnie Raitt disc in years,

I hope Grace doesn't mind the comparison, it seems unlikely she hasn't heard it before. This is a really good disc. The song "Nothing but the Water" has been my drive to work song for weeks. It's got the best killer hammond organ since the Delta 72. "Toothbrush and my Table" is a classic. The first line is "I came back home with a jewel missing out of my crown". Who hasn't had a morning like that. Other standout songs are "Left Behind", "Treat Me Right", "Sweet Hands", and "Joey". This disc also comes with a Live DVD from a preformance in a small bar. It's great to see her in action. If you Like Bonnie, Susan Tedeschi, Rory Block, Toni Price, Maria Muldaur, etc. You'll like this.

Grace Potter and the Nocturnals is one of the best up-and-coming bands on the entire music scene. They have a great beat, rythym and style. Grace's voice is too good to be true! Her soulful sound feels to me like a combination of Ella Fitzgerald and Etta James. Some songs are beautiful ballads like old Sam Cooke stories, while other songs rock with speed and voracity. All and all they are one of my favorite bands and expect to see them filling larger arenas sooner than later

Headed for the big time, not passing go,

This album rocks. The only thing better is seeing them live. I saw them at the Independent in SF a year ago. Then I saw them headlining at the same place last week. Inagine Bonnie Raitt meets Norah Jones meets Led Zeppelin and you'll half an idea what these guys are about. And founded in Canton, NY no less.
