Transcendence has been enjoying major radio success across the country with their latest hit single "Superhero Girl," while bridging the gap between passionate new-rock with an old-school melodic seventies rock. While their over the top electrifying live performances have been taking indie-music audiences by storm, there has been a slow-brewing flurry of anticipation over their soon to be released new CD entitled Nothing is cohesive. The albums off the cuff schizophrenia has been described as Radiohead meets Lou Reed or somewhere in between. The new CD, which the band recorded in a garage studio with no producer on-hand, may be their most honest work to date.
Look for the documentary on the new CD by Journey of Dreams Productions due in the spring.
Standout tracks: Somebody kill the DJ, I wanna know ya, Tomorrow, Caetano, All this is beginning to feel like an ending,

classic album except for the noise,
By Bernsy (new york, ny) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Nothing Is Cohesive (Audio CD)
Another classic album by the band of misfits. On this one, transcendence think that the year is 1973 -- which makes nic a treasure to fans of early seventies rock and pop. This is the best that genre's rebirth has produced in the last coupla years; the most sophisticated. but it also has many touches of the mod here and there, espeically in the opener somebody kill the dj. the songwriting is brilliant. the instruments are so in your face you swear it was recorded in your garage, not guitarist fernando perdomo's. speaking of which the guitar playing is colorful and creative in a way that few other guitarists can match. will the band ever tour is question and can they play this music live? has anyone ever seen them live? nothing is cohesive is my non-stop favorite cd right now.

Amazing talent!!!,

The musical talent expressed on Nothing is Cohesive is mind-blowing. Hale and the boys can belt out a rock ballad (All this is beginning to feel like an ending), get jiggy with a pop tune (Somebody Kill the DJ),or plain rock with the best of the best (Come on and Revolution In Me). At times there is a hint of Bowie or Bono and dare I say Lennon, but overall a unique sound. Although Caetano is my absolute favorite (even if you don't know who he is), I find myself listening to the entire CD over and over without tiring of it.

GREAT ALBUM -- BUT ITS THE GUITARS,
By Kevin Chap (Brooklyn) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Nothing Is Cohesive (Audio CD)
Unlike a lot of people I have been buying Transcendence CDs since their first, rise and shine. Nothing is cohesive is the third CD from transcendence, not the first as some people seem to think. This is by far the most adventurous band out today. Every album they make rocks. There is no way to pigeon-hole their sound, because each album, sometimes each song, is completly different than the previous one.I would not say that it just comes down to Ed Hale's singing style that makes this band great. Although that is a major component certainly, it is the unique guitar textures weilded by Fernando Perdomo that make this a truly great band. Hottest guitar tracks are I wanna know ya, Caetano solo section, and the sickest most twisted onslaught of multi-layered guitar heaven you've ever heard in Bored. There must be ten separate guitar tracks on this song. He has to be one of the most inventive guitarists in any band out right now. This album has not left play on my iPod in over a month. It is very deep and has a very organic sound to it, sounds old school, unlike the polished but still excellent Sleep with you. They found a sound with this one. The drums and bass are also kicking. Again, it's just a very unique peice of music from beginning to end.
