I have been studying many avenues in my preparation to become a realty investor for over a year now. I attended an extensive training seminar in November of last year, and over the last three months, I have been cramming in as much information as possible to prepare for my launch into the wonderful world of investing.
I have mentors who have helped answer many questions, but nothing ever quite clicked into place until I read "Nothing Down for Women, The Smart Women's Quick-Start Guide to Real Estate Investing", by Robert G. Allen and Karen Nelson Bell.
Finally, a book that glued most of the pieces into a cohesive stream of knowlege!
Reading this book took very little time, I couldn't put it down because I knew I would learn answers to my questions on nearly every page.
Thank you, thank you for working on this wonderful book together Bob and Karen.
It's been so marvelous to read this book and understand how to acutally go out and APPLY what I have learned.
I would recommend this book to any person who is seeking to understand the real estate investor's world.

I have read many books and attended numerous seminars on a variety of subjects. There are two main challenges that I've observed with some of these: 1. The information (with facts and figures) is given in very large "chunks", which can be rather intimidating and time consuming, and 2. There seems to be an assumption of a prior base of knowledge, including a whole new vocabulary and vernacular, which many new students simply don't have.

Karen Nelson Bell very eloquently and elegantly addresses these issues. Each 5 minute "helping" of each subject is easily digestible and includes a complete glossary of new terms as well as a "quiz wizard" that makes sure the lesson is fully understood and action steps taken before moving on to the next helping. Karen's personality and humor make creating a potential new source of income uncomplicated and fun.

As a man and a very busy entrepreneur, I've got to say that even though it says "for women", this system is perfect for men on the go. It has given me a new perspective on real estate investing, and has removed any concern about economic climate.

If you've ever wanted to look into the rewards of real estate investing, but had doubts of any sort - you owe it to yourself to buy this wonderful book.

I have known Karen since the late 70s. However, I knew her as a successful performing artist and not the "business type." Karen became my mentor in Las Vegas and was instrumental in launching my dancing, as well as my singing career there. Later I moved to Florida, only to find out that she had successfully become a multi-millionaire from real estate investing, of all things. Karen became my mentor yet again and I signed up for her Nothing Down for Women online course two summers ago. I had since become a High School teacher. As a direct result of Karen's course and the principles contained in her book, Nothing Down for Women, I have accumulated 4 properties so far! Combined with my own home, I now have a total worth of over a million dollars!! The first property I closed on when I was less than half way through the course. WOW! It has doubled in value in the last 18 months! Karen's experience and expertise, and step-by-step outline helped me overcome great fear. Not only the fear of entering a field I knew little about, but also the fear a woman has of what to do on a meager teacher's salary, if something were to happen to her husband. I am forever indebted to Karen for all this and more.

This book may be titled "Nothing Down for Women" but let me let you in on a secret - it's the bomb for guys too! Clearly written with a gradient approach to understanding the exact processes necessary to actually BUY Real Estate with "Nothing Down" techniques. Not a lot of "fluff" just proven and practiced tequniques that result in owning real estate. How do I know? 18 months ago I had NEVER owned a house - now I own 9! When I started buying houses I had NO job and my credit wasn't spectacular. Using Karen's techniques not only made me into a professional Real Estate investor, it also gave me the knowledge to start a successful business helping other investors "farm" their properties. Is everything you'll ever need to know about Real Estate investing in this book - of course not - but there is enough information to take the complete novice through every step necessary to buy an investment property or properties! Even seasoned investors will learn a thing or two! Certainly not written in the usual dry prose of investment books, this is a writer with heart and flair who can really communicate complex concepts in a simple, crisp way that not only allows you to understand this subject but gives you the ability to ACT, DO and OBTAIN actual products! So, even if you're a shy guy with insecurities, take the cover off a manly book, like "Investments on Steroids", wrap it around "Nothing Down for Women" and get the knowledge that will make you millions. And when you get asked your investment secrets, you can give a wry grin, slowly shake your head and say with a smile "I can think like a woman!".

Karen has been a friend of mine since we first met in 1979. I am so so proud of this book and of her accomplishments in investing and in sharing her knowledge with others. She has cracked the code for investors in that she has laid out the sequential steps and the necessary things to know, but more importantly has done so in a way to where a person can DO this and without getting overwhelmed and stopped. My wife and I are a living testimony to her expertise and her help. This book is an honest reflection of the sincere and helpful people that Robert Allen AND Karen Nelson Bell are. I've been in business for myself since 1979 and business isn't for the faint of heart. Even the faint of heart can do real estate investing the way it is laid out in this book, though. If someone cannot follow and implement these ideas and this information, I feel they must have a severe deficiency in their literacy (but a good dictionary could help with even that). They have actually revealed the investors' "secrets" in this marvelous book! They've let the cat out of the bag. Now anyone can play this game!

This book is fantastic! It takes all the fear and confusion out of this investment vehicle. It gives many examples. It shares people's mistakes and how to deal with them. The entire purpose of the book is to help you help others and I like that.

I was appalled to read the purported review by Publishers Weekly. I truly thought the days when the worn out out down of female power by labeling it/us as "shrill" were over.

But then I realized-- this means it really rang the reviwer's chimes. He -- and I have never heard a woman call another women shrill--would have felt no need to default to imitation and cheap shots if there were not something important going on here.

For anyone who has read the book or spoken to Karen, this accusation needs no rebuttal. For those who dare to believe there can be a better way to get ahead than the "dog eat dog" way-- be aassured there is a better way, it is being done, and you will know in your heart if this is right for you.

and for the record-- reviewers far more expert than PW have had glowing words for this book. And so do I.

Excellent book to help anyone get started in Real Estate investing. Have read many of them, this is the best so far. The only thing anyone needs to do is ACT. Fred B. Griswold

This book is amazing! I though I could just take notes on some key points like I did with other investment books, but she has so much useful information, I have to buy my own copy. There would have been way too much to write down. A definite read for those looking to invest in real estate. The Rich Dad, Poor Dad series is great too!:)

I was frankly suprised at the level of detail and instructions in this book. Most real estate 'how-to' books keep it pretty high level but in this one, there are specific detailed action items to take and found it very informative, even as an experienced real estate investor!

I've personally met Karen Nelson Bell at the enlightened wealth institute and have a high regard for her success!
