4.0 out of 5 stars Nothing Has Ever Felt Like This:An PeoplewholoveGoodBooks Review, July 19, 2005
This review is from: Nothing Has Ever Felt Like This (Hardcover)
Nothing Has Ever Felt Like This by Mary B Morrison is the continuation of the characters we have grown to know and love that were introduced in Soul Mates Dissipate, Never Again Once More, He's Just a Friend, and Somebody's Gotta Be on Top. Mary B Morrison has done it again!!

Nothing Has Ever Felt Like This continues the story of Darius Jones. Darius has lost everything, and could possibly be the father of 3 children. In the midst of it all, he has met Fancy Taylor. Both Darius and Fancy have used sex to gain power and money but they have both learned the age-old lesson that: money truly doesn't buy happiness. Darius has to learn to be a man and stand on his own 2 feet and stop expecting things to be handed to him, Fancy decides to make changes in her life and make it on her own. They learn to deal with their pain and eventually find their way to each other. In the meantime, Jada, Darius's mother is forced to deal with an unexpected betrayal from her soul mate and husband Wellington. An old enemy surfaces and trouble follows. Nothing Has Ever Felt Like This is a hot, steamy read in the typical Mary B Morrison fashion, it is a page-turner from beginning to end. I have been fan since Soul Mates Dissipate and have read each book in order and can't wait until the next one comes out! I give this book 4 stars! Reviewed by Shay C of PeoplewholoveGoodBooks

4.0 out of 5 stars Are You The One?, December 31, 2005

This review is from: Nothing Has Ever Felt Like This (Hardcover)
NOTHING HAS EVER FELT LIKE THIS by Mary B. Morrison is the continuing story of the Jones family. In this novel, two people who have always used the opposite sex to get what they want sexually or monetarily end up falling head over heels in love with each other. Neither of them have experienced love before and are not really sure how it happened, but will do anything to and for the other one.

Darius Jones is a sexy, sophisticated, multi-millionaire who is used to getting his way. He is a business owner and is living the lavish lifestyle at the tender age of twenty-two, until he makes some irresponsible choices and his parents cut him off. Darius is left with nothing, but still tries to appear as though he is rich. He still wines and dines women, using them for sex, being the true player that he is. He meets Fancy Taylor and is almost willing to give up his player ways.

Fancy Taylor is a sexy diva who is accustomed to the finer things in life and men falling at her feet. She uses men for what they can do for her financially. After being hurt one too many times, Fancy decides to take a break from men and go to school so she can take care of herself. This is easier said than done when she meets Darius Jones, a fine specimen of a man who knocks her off her feet.

The chemistry between Darius and Fancy is so strong they can feel it a mile away. Darius is doing his best to keep Fancy in the dark about his current economic status, and Fancy has a few issues she is dealing with as well. The relationship they are trying to develop is difficult for both of them, and they aren't so sure that a relationship is what they even want. They are so use to getting what they want and then moving on that they don't know a good thing when it hits them. Can the two put aside their egos, differences and other issues and have a real relationship? Or will they realize that being tied down just isn't in the cards for them?

NOTHING HAS EVER FELT LIKE THIS is a page-turner from the start. Darius is so arrogant and irresponsible that you want to keep reading to find out what he will do or say next. The characters were very well developed, and though they were a bit superficial, I felt like I knew them. It was interesting to see how people who have never been in love react to one of the best feelings in the world. Their upbringing and the relationship they had with their mothers had a lot to do with the type of people they became. Although they were both accustomed to using people of the opposite sex, I think deep down they both had a sense of longing and the need to feel accepted and loved. A valuable lesson can be learned from this book-- you don't have to use what you got to get what you want; instead, be yourself and allow your heart to lead you.

3.0 out of 5 stars MARY I GOTTA LET YOU HAVE IT!, October 29, 2005
This review is from: Nothing Has Ever Felt Like This (Hardcover)
Ok Mary I love ya but I got to let you have it! Now Mary her other books were off the hook, but this book you were doing too much! First off let me start off by saying if the readers did not catch your message when you said please read the previous books then their fault! Oh my goodness I felt like I was being punished because Mary wanted to catch up the other readers who did not read her previous books. Some of the things that were going on in this book were unrealistic. Who in the hell was this crazy bag lady? She gave away the entire story. No suspense I knew what was coming next. And drama. I love drama but this book was going way too far! It was getting ridiculous! Darius and his 12 baby momma's! Fancy lying and her dad was crazy! Her 90 year old mother having a baby (LOL). The ending was crazy! Mary I expect more from you. Can you please come better than this? This all my opinion that I am entitled to. Right?

5.0 out of 5 stars Real good, July 10, 2006
This is the first book I read about these charactors although it is not the first book for the series. This book had me interested in reading all of them and buying the next on after this one. Good reading!

i love the way Mary keeps you hanging with each of her novels leading into the next one. hopefully darius has not did himself in but we'll see in the next one. i love the way she takes darius through emotional waves of despair bring him out then throw him back in. he's a spoiled rich "boy" who cares about no one but himself. is it wrong for me to always want to see him get his? this is a page turning must read! but start form the begining with soul mates dissapate.

5.0 out of 5 stars Off the Chain, February 2, 2006
This review is from: Nothing Has Ever Felt Like This (Hardcover)
This book is about two young lovers trying to find their way in life and love. It is without a doubt one of the best books I've ever read. I literally had to force myself to put it down. I would encourage anyone to purchase "Nothing Has Ever Felt Like This" along with the four previous books from this sequel. You won't be disappointed. Believe Me!

4.0 out of 5 stars Issues Run Deep, January 18, 2006
This review is from: Nothing Has Ever Felt Like This (Hardcover)
Darius Jones and Fancy Taylor have real problems that have a lasting effect upon those around them. Darius is a rich kid gone wild accustomed to being catered to and having women at his disposal to use and abuse. In addition to his callousness, he has an insatiable desire for sex to the point that it becomes unrealistic. Regardless of the drama that has come to define his life, sex remains on his brain and is his number one obsession. As unconscionable as they are, the secondary characters are welcomed as they go through life seemingly on a ruthless rampage, not caring whom they crush either.

The subplots definitely hold their own, as we are taken deeper inside Darius's world that is caving in upon him when he initiates a relationship with Fancy and she quickly becomes a primary interest. Fancy, never feeling loved by her mother and not knowing her father, is a little girl caught up. Residing in a world of glitter and gold that men she has slept with have provided, suddenly Fancy says no more and seeks more out of life. The newly independent Fancy is determined to have Darius's respect and holds him at bay. Maybe this is what Darius needs to make him think twice about whom and what he does. Despite the many obstacles to love, Darius and Fancy find it in each other. However, around every corner there is more than too much drama blocking the route to true happiness. With both coming from fragile places, we wonder if they can learn to stop seeking in others what should be found within oneself.

I found the main character Darius Jones to be so unpredictable and irresponsible whereas he just didn't make a great deal of sense to me. For the most part Ms. Morrison writes a good story with characters full life and well rounded. This story also encourages introspection, which adds value for the reader. Not having read her previous titles, which are interwoven into this one and will prompt the first time reader to read her previous titles, I had no problem keeping up with this story that is rich in flashbacks. If you are a true fan of drama and erotic love scenes then this read definitely delivers and then some. Mary B. Morrison has worked overtime to provide her fans with what they crave.

3.0 out of 5 stars 3.5 stars, December 15, 2006
This book is like a Black soap opera. For me, it started off slow and then picked up. But when it picked up... it REALLY picked up! As bad as Darius is you just have to love this brotha and his "I'm better than you attitude". He is a complete and total trip. Fancy is almost as bad. I did like this book.

The only thing I didn't like was the SERIOUS soap opera drama going on. It almost made my head hurt trying to keep up with everyone and thier issues. Mary is a very good writer so it's not that bad. I will be getting the next book because I just have to find out what happens to everyone and if the homeless lady's predictions come true.

Mary Morrison is an absolute pleasure to read. Her pacing is solid and the "intimate" scenes are off the hook. Her entire series is wonderful. They keep getting better and better; keep up the good work Ms. Morrison.
