This review is from: The X-Files Season 9 (Amazon Instant Video)
The second part of the Season 9 opener showcases Doggett trying to find out what happened to Mulder and why Skully is covering this up. Also included is something about Super Soldiers, something on the way to the world behind that words, and a look at who might have sent something to the X-files.

The second part has answers, a few anyhow, and is nice in some places. It alsos adds some complexity to the Super Soldier notions and asks who, if anyone, really can be trusted in the FBI. Alongside this is the reasoning behind Mulder going on the lamb for this season and the idea that Skuuly is more than a friend or a partner tot he man that always had chemistry with him but never had it during an episode. I like this and I don't, thinking I would have enjoyed it sometime sooner. I thinkt hat anyhow, but I am not sure and, really, I did not want the things messed with.

As far as an episode alone, I say this is a 4/5. This is not practical, however, since it is a piece of a puzzle you need now and in the longrun. super Soliders, as a storyline, cannot lose pieces and makes sense. That is one of the biggest downsides to a storyline that keeps on keeping on, and yet I would hate not to have it. Still, I am rating it on an individual basis, with a warning that you need to see it simply to connect the first two episodes.
