girls got pissed. if you dont believe me listen to "crumbling down" and "no hay perdon" and tell me otherwise. and im not doing this review because the singer is cute.
i listened to this cd start to end already and i can definitely say its a very straightforward no tricks punk cd. theres not much that stands out in the lyrics or music (except the occasional betty solo) and it makes for good background music with hangouts happening or if youre looking for something to skate to on the go. each song has its own vibe and im definitely a big fan of that. its not like cave in where each song is completely different, but its noticeble changes. some songs are upbeat, some songs are slower but still fast enough. and theres the slow song that doesnt suck either. its well rounded on the writing/song structure areas and by the end of the cd youll want to hear more (they did it on the EP and again on the full length and that made listening to this even better) and it leaves you feeling like theres something left to be said and well......im sure it will be said live. these girls have something special in them that appeals and if people miss this and the cd doesnt pick up in the next months and kids dont get into this i seriously wont know what to think. i dont think theres a reason why this shouldnt pick up. this was definitely worth the wait since i last saw them in july. this is definitely my top choice for the slew of fall releases coming out so far other than the new suicide machines. overall- 8.5/10 choice cuts: "no hay perdon", "the pirate song", "crumbling down", "get out"

This CD is by far one of the best CD's to come out of the English/Spanish LA scene in a long time. These girls are going to be big with this CD. Not only are they incredible catchy but they are very well written. Good lyrics, good backup vocals...just an excellent CD! Every song on that CD make you want to sing out loud with Nicolette. I remember when these girls were barely starting out some people said they wouldnt last because the songs werent all that great and Nicolette couldn't sing, but this CD COMPLETELY proves them wrong. I recommend "the Pirate song," "no hay perdon" and "unreal." By the way the Betty's are amazing live especially when Nicolette gets into it with her dancing and anger she shows in some songs.

if you weren't sold on the ep..,

go betty go as the main reviewer stated hails from glendale ca. building on the strength of their ep gbg forge on to make a solid full length album effort introducing new songs and and finally recording (in much better sound quality) old fan favorite: 'no hay perdon'. and recording for the first time live standards: 'crumbling down' and 'you want it all'. the album kicks off with a raucous start with 'saturday' a solid and well written rocker that more or less sets the tone for the ensuing songs. the album only stops for a breath once for the song 'ticking bombs' a nice balladesque tune which showcases some of nicolettes' finest singing in a more demure setting. the lyrics show a strong sense of earnest and they write about important issues among young people and add a dash of humor with songs like 'i am from la' and the 'pirate song' which is a far and necessary departure for the bands' usual formula which only adds to the flavor.
go betty go represent some of los angeles' finest music with a solid well rounded rock sound with a dash of latin flavor that is very much los angeles. since the release they have added an even stronger vocalist after the departure of nicolette vilar with a young ambitious talent named emily (her last name escapes me right now). all in all 'nothing is more' is a solid buy and you'll find yourself spinning it again and again. may we have much more in store from go betty go!
