Book Description

March 15, 2010
Born a dwarf with degenerative arthritis, Julie Genovese's path included many visits to the Center for Birth Defects as a child where she was displayed on a table and studied by genetic specialists who rarely had the opportunity to see a case of spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia.

With a childhood rife with humiliation and heartache, Julie was terrified she would never find happiness. Lifelong physical limitations, as well as bi-lateral hip and knee replacements, left deep emotional scars. Through two brain surgeries, lots of trial, lots of error, and endless soul searching, Julie took charge of her own Eden and would stop at nothing short of joy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Writing from the Heart March 8, 2010
Format:Paperback
This book is written with such honesty, openness, sincerity, and most of all, heart. The straight-forward and engaging writing draws you right in---I quickly became engrossed in Julie's story. It seemed as if I was traveling on the journey with her, and along the way, was learning from her insights, courage and determination.

For anyone who faces or has faced challenges in life, there is something to be gained from reading this book. You cannot help but feel the pain of Julie's many trials, but you will be uplifted by the sincere account of her joy. I may have shed some tears, but in the end, I felt at peace. I closed the book feeling hopeful and inspired.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspirational & Courageously Honest March 8, 2010
Format:Paperback
Nothing Short of Joy
As Wayne Dyer has said about this book: "I love this book! I love this woman! Read it and reap!" Julie Genovese exposes the daily struggles faced by anyone born into this world and labeled "defective." She leaves nothing out. I came to feel the pains, disappointments and, at times, hopelessness of the relentless demands her body, family, friends, and total strangers placed upon her. And I was able to share her ultimate triumph and liberating self-discovery. Nothing Short of Joy is a wise book, sure to touch anyone choosing to become spiritually awakened.

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't Put It Down! March 8, 2010
Format:Paperback
What a joyous book! I could not put it down. You are pulled right in to her struggles, her journey, her humor, and her triumph and you enjoy the whole ride. You find yourself cheering for her the whole way. Genovese's prose are like beautiful strokes on a canvas. Not only is the story compelling but her words are so beautiful - you want to read it again and again, like visiting your favorite work of art.

Everyone should read this book, for what it taught her and for what it can teach us all.
