Old-fashioned British mystery,
By Jersey Girl (NJ, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Nothing Venture (Mass Market Paperback)
If you love the cozy British mysteries that take place in the era between the wars, Patricia Wentworth is for you. This is one of her few books that do NOT feature Miss Silver (her elderly lady detective character) solving the mystery. It's more of a romantic suspense than a mystery, but it's my favorite book by this author and one of my comfort reads. It's got a classic marriage of convenience plot, with the heroine secretly in love with the hero all along. She actually gets to rescue him several times, a nice twist.
