Don't pay attention to the amazon.com reviewer, this movie is one of the best comedies ever! The dynamics between Lawrence and Robbins are great and the plot's VERY nice and twisty. If you don't much care for "boyz in da hood" type movies, don't worry - this isn't one. It's just a great comic adventure that'll make you almost fall out of your chair laughing.

This is one of my favorite comedies. Robbins and Lawrence are a really good team; the "spider-freak-out" dance by Robbins, and the goofy security guard routine by Steve Oedekerk were hilarious.

In "Nothing To Lose" Nick Beam (Tim Robbins), a white executive from the suburbs of Los Angeles, is having a really bad day. To start with, he walks in on his wife in bed with another man. He's having a really rough time with his boss. And to top it all off, he gets carjacked by T.(Terrence) Paul (Martin Lawrence). Feeling he has "nothing to lose," Nick decides to turn the tables on this would be carjacker and take him for the action packed thrill ride of his life.In this 1997 comedy, directed by Steve Oedekerk, you will get 98 minutes of gut busting laughs. If you like comedies with lots of action, hold-ups, high speed chases, and revenge, I would recommend this movie to you. I give this film four stars because, while it is a very funny film, it does have a lot of foul language. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend this film for young people, or people who prefer to keep young sensitive ears.

Martin Lawrence, from the instant classic sit-com Martin, as well as other excellent movies and comedy, teamed with Tim Robbins from Shawshank Redemption. There will definitely be worthy results in this movie. It's a hilarious comedy featuring Tim Robbins as a executive who catches his wife in bed with his boss, and goes for a drive. Martin is waiting to car-jack Tim Robbins, however, he picked the wrong day to do it and Robbins takes off, bringing Martin with him. They rob a couple stores and eventually Tim Robbins concocts a plan to rob his boss, but while in the process of completing this move, he and Martin are trailed by two other criminals, and get into various encounters with them on their way, each one turns out to be hilarious. Just one of those movies you have to witness for yourself, it's a shame some people are criticizing Nothing To Lose because of the sound equipment used and just the situation in the movie. It doesn't matter how many times a black/white uniting movie is made just as long as they add something new and refreshing to it that makes it worth watching. And Nothing To Lose does just that. And criticizing a movie just because there's a little bit of swearing in it? Preposterous, it would be understandable if the entire movie was filled with bad words but this movie is definitely not one of those. In my opinion, this is a very good movie, but putting two talented actors together you shouldn't expect anything less. Nothing To Lose is a comedic, interesting and just all-around excellent film. This is coming from someone who doesn't even like movies that much. So listen to my advice, and try out Nothing To Lose, starring Martin Lawrence and Tim Robbins.

Mindlessly Hilarious,

A man comes home early and catches his wife in bed with his boss, just after his boss asked him to take a meeting so he could "get lucky" with her. Having been deeply in love with his, wife the emotional backlash is not insignificant. When he finds himself at gun point in an attempted robbery, the maelstrom that follows makes up the plotline of the movie.
"Nothing to Lose" is nothing of not predictable. Even though I won't mention how it all pans out, anyone could predict it anwyay. Despite that, the movie is still gut-wrenching in its hilarity and zany situations. The scene where Nick asks a store clerk what was scarier, (his cool and calm approach or Terence's loud, profanity pumping approach), was a hoot. Especially when the clerk tried to make Nick feel better about himself. For a good laugh, this is a hard movie to beat. Tim Robbins is great and Martin Lawrence even manages to be less annoyingly squealy than he normally is. Like other reviewers, I love this movie and have seen it a number of times. Want a good laugh? See this one!

Extremely hilarious,
This review is from: Nothing to Lose (DVD)
Watching Tim Robbins dance with his shoe on fire while trying to get a spider off of him led me to the hardest I've ever laughed in my life. Martin Lawrence's character's response to it as well as the back ground music made it even funnier. I had tears in my eyes and my side hurt.

I'm a fan of Tim Robbins. I saw this at the movies and just had to have it in DVD. The story is a typical buddy film but the chemistry between Robbins and Martin Lawrrence was priceless. The funniest line from Robbins in response to the real spider crawling on his head was, "I'm not up on all this jive talkin' homeboy lingo". This is a must see!
