5.0 out of 5 stars The Poetry of B.I.G.
Sean Combs sheds the oftentimes awkward posthumous collaborations found on Born Again and Duets: The Final Chapter to present an intriguing collection of previously-released material and new tracks that honor the short life - but continuing legacy - of Christopher Wallace.

The most interesting are the previously unreleased demos Microphone Murder, Guaranteed...

3.0 out of 5 stars Biggie's retro album
Though I loved Biggie's music I was hoping this album was going to be enhanced somehow. Unfortunately, the album just puts out a compilation of old songs. I hope the movie is better.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Poetry of B.I.G., January 14, 2009

Sean Combs sheds the oftentimes awkward posthumous collaborations found on Born Again and Duets: The Final Chapter to present an intriguing collection of previously-released material and new tracks that honor the short life - but continuing legacy - of Christopher Wallace.

The most interesting are the previously unreleased demos Microphone Murder, Guaranteed Raw and Love No Ho, which close out the 17-song soundtrack. The two two original numbers - Brooklyn Go Hard (Jay-Z w/ Santogold) and Letter to B.I.G. (Jadakiss w/ Faith Evans) - are excellent and One More Chance (featuring Wallace's son, CJ) is a touching tribute.

A soundtrack is not a greatest hits package, but this collection is a stand-alone that can be appreciated for the music and/or as an integral part of the movie.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Collection, February 4, 2009
The movie was outstanding, heads bopping and everyone knew every lyric and verse. The beat is enough to start anyone off. Just perfect, a perfect movie outing.

It made me want the music and here I am downloading it, it bring me back to that era, and at the same time, the music is still relevant.

If anything, the movie put BIG's music in better perspective as he rapped about a lot of the situations in his life and that fit seamlessly with the movie! I'm seeing it again on Friday!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-have for any B.I.G. fan, January 17, 2011

When it comes to soundtracks, it's rare to find one that features all the songs that plays in the motion picture. In this case, it's the opposite: you find every single track that you can hear in the movie, and also some brand new tracks. The "D" side features a duet, made through electronic means, between The Notorious B.I.G. and his son, Christopher Wallace Jr., that plays his father in the beginning of this excelent biopic. And you can never get tired of hits such as "Hypnotize" and "Notorious". Definitely, this vinyl represent "BK" to the fullest.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great soundtrack for the demos on it, June 26, 2010
This review is from: Notorious Music From And Inspired By The Original Motion Picture (Audio CD)
The highlights of this album are the track five--a fun song not found on any of Big's studio albums--and the last three tracks that are simply amazing demo tracks. Find me a 17, 18 year old kid who can write and rap like that and you're looking at a multi-millionaire. My favorite part of the demos is you hear these little Big catch phrases that he uses later on real tracks that you know and love.

It's also interesting to hear Danny Elfman's take on Big. For a huge paycheck out of Puff's pocket, I'm sure.

Solid album for any fan of Frank White. I'd almost say it's an essential pick next to his 3 studio albums, but the amount of re-releases makes it less interesting and is why it got 4 stars.
