Wonderful!
I think this book is wonderful as it encourages children to think about words - nouns and verbs - and how both are needed to get things done and to express ideas clearly. The text and illustrations work well together, conveying important topics in a lively and zany way. I especially like that the teacher, "Mr. Wright," is not always right, as the nouns and verbs teach...

A really fun introduction to the idea of nouns and verbs. It offers not just the definition of nouns and verbs, but also how they rely on wach other, providing a nice jumping off point for discussing sentance structure. Engaging illustrations; my son (Kindergartener) loves looking at the pictures and "extra" dialog in the pictures.

Mr. Wright's class has nouns and verbs running all over the place. When the kids neglect them, they decide to have their own field day. They play with each other and try to team up in ways that make sense. A nice way to introduce nouns and verbs. Very nice.

Another great story to use with grammar and punctuation units!! I use this story in conjunction with Punctuation Takes a Vacation, also by Robin Pulver, to add some entertainment to such dull units. My students love it! Highly recommended!!
