Book Description

June 2002
Do you know that you need to grow a carrot differently from a tomato? Do you know that lettuce needs a different type of energy to grow than beans? Do you know how to measure the nourishment levels in the food you grow in your gardens, as well as the food you purchase in the market? Do you know how to make plant food mixtures that ideally nourish the plant? Do you know the relationship between soil and sickness? Nourishment Home Grown shows you how and explains why.

• Nourishment Home Grown is for those who are serious about having top quality food available.
• Nourishment Home Grown is the only book of its kind. It is positively not an ordinary garden book. It reveals how ideal health can only be promoted by foods that are intentionally grown and nourished by using the electromagnetic soil secrets discovered over sixty years ago by Dr. Carey Reams.
• Nourishment Home Grown is a how-to book. It tells how to understand and work with the little known secrets that ensure you are growing the absolute best food possible for life and health.
• Nourishment Home Grown reveals to you the whys behind some of your most puzzling questions about gardening and farming. It will even answer questions you didn’t know how to ask.

About the Author

Dr. Beddoe developed a deep love for agriculture growing up on the family farm in southern Oregon. Although his professional scholastic training has been in the field of medical health care-Doctor of Dental Surgery-he has never been removed from working with the soil.

It was during dental school that one of his physiology professors discovered that teeth actually have a natural cleansing and health maintenance process that begins from inside if the body is healthy and mineralized. Thus, the early years were a fascinating journey of learning. A major turning point came more than 27 years ago when he met and began studying with Dr. Carey Reams. Dr. Reams' work since the early 1930's in the field of agricultural biochemistry and biophysics set the stage for Dr. Beddoe to combine his love of agriculture with his work in human nutrition. Since then, "Biologic Ionization", as originally coined by Reams, has become his exclusive tool for understanding and working concurrently with human and soil health.

"The longer I work with soil chemistry, the more I know that our poorly mineralized food is robbing people of life," says Dr. Beddoe. "We are only as healthy as the food we eat, and that food is only as mineralized as the soil in which it is grown-if grown correctly. A farmer or gardener growing low mineral food spreads degeneration, disease and poor health, while the farmer and gardener who understands how to grow highly mineralized food promotes the best public health." Dr. Beddoe emphasized this point by saying, "Healthy and high mineral energy soil can have more effect on the health of humanity, than all the medical personal and institutions that will ever exist."

This is a great book for anyone that gardens, farms, or eats! This book will tell you how to feed your plants, how to measure nourishment levels in the foods you eat, and it will answer many of your basic and advanced gardening questions. This is also a good book for anyone interested in the work of Dr. Carey Reams.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's something I can do, January 28, 2007

This review is from: Nourishment Home Grown (Spiral-bound)
This book talks about how to make our soils so good that the food we grow on them will nourish our health. I already knew that American soils are so depleted that most of us are malnourished in spite of plenty of food items to eat. Although this author does not insist on everything used being "natural", getting back to natural seems to be the ultimate goal. The plans are something I can work with and I expect the soil on our newly excavated lot to become rich in a fairly short time.
