Great Compilation of a Great Artist, May 14, 2001

A compilation of the best hits and greatest songs of Clara Nunes, this was originally recommended to me in Salvador, Brazil, by the very knowledgeable saleswoman. She was right! Clara Nunes sang from the 60s into the early 80s, when she tragically died due to complications from surgery. However, the sambas and other MPB on this CD are a good representation of her art and talent. The recordings don't sound totally remastered, which is a pity, and the volume and bass vary from number to number, but this 2 CD set is a must for any fan of Brazilian popular music.
