Remember the fun of creating cards for your family back in grade school? It's hard to beat the pleasure that a stack of construction paper and a pot of glue provides, unless you've played with the Hallmark Holiday Card Studio--no glue or scissors here, just simple-to-use directions and a wealth of stylish art and greetings far fancier than what decorates most homemade cards.

In addition to winter holiday cards, use the Card Studio to create newsletters, invitations, envelopes, stickers, and labels. The variety of artistic styles to select from is tremendous--you'll find everything from cuddly animals frolicking in the snow to wry and hilarious Shoebox greetings. And customization is a breeze, just a matter of choosing and clicking to combine a whimsical picture with a formal greeting. The Hanukkah section contains 14 art options, and Kwanzaa has seven; while that's nowhere near the number of choices available for Christmas-themed creations, it's possible to use the art and create your own greeting, or use general artwork and choose a holiday-specific greeting. For all creations, changing fonts, sizes, and colors is simple, and there's plenty to play with before making your final decision. E-cards are also an option; when used in conjunction with the stellar address book and event calendar, you'll whisk greetings off as easily as if you had a personal assistant.

Installation is a snap, although getting past those free offers from Internet companies is a bit annoying. Throughout the program, icons are large and clearly labeled, so it's easy to navigate your way through, with only a minimal chance of losing a card you've just perfected. Remember that your printer may not be capable of the same depth of color your monitor is--some of your artwork may fare better if put on a disk and transported to a professional printer. --Jill Lightner

My only complaint about this card program is that is says "Holiday" cards but it's not all holidays. When I think of the word holiday, I think of Easter, Halloween, Valentines, Christmas, etc. But what the box doesn't tell you is that the cards are only winter holidays. I have several other card programs and bought this one for additional Easter, Valentines, & other non-Christmas cards, so I'm kind of disappointed. One advantage of this program is that there is only 1 cd, unlike several other card programs.

I wish I had read the reviews before I purchased this program. I was interested in holiday cards, but I was looking for Easter, Valentines Day & Halloween. I assumed holidays would include all. Not the case, very few cards for these holidays and not any sentiments for them. The selection for Christmas cards looks to be very good if that is what you are looking for. I am disappointed and will find very little use for this program. I had a little trouble downloading the program and uninstalling was a nightmare. Had to do manually. I tried to determine by the box what holidays were included but the advertisment said pick your holiday, better info on the box would be great.

I was very excited about this product after using the predecessor. But when I went to install it I had continual problems. Finally it damaged my kerner driver, needed to install programs. I can not get it reinstored or replaced and I have tried everytyhing they have suggested. I notified customer service and received two blanket fixes - neither of which worked and now I have never heard from them again. I'm very dissapointed in the fact this program damaged my compputer, and that customer service is only cursury at best. I have windows Milinniem edition with more that ample resources. I can not recommend purchase of this program at this time.
