Good Inexpensive Software,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Ideasoft Surething CD Labeler (CD-ROM)
For a pretty good price you can have one of the best label software products on the market. I've tried several and were never really satisfied. Surething allows you too save groups of CDs as one file so, for example, if I recorded a series of high school football games, I can save each football game as a separate label and save the whole thing as one file. When I want to print out just one, I can specify which one and what label on the sheet I want to use for the print.
There are lots of backgrounds that come with the software and lots of options for creating text. You can create text that circles around the CD or a simple text box with various fonts and sizes. Importing is easy so you can use your own graphics. The thing I like most about this label software is that you can take any picture and center it, resize it, etc. so that it fits on the CD exactly how you want it. I started using this software at version 2 and it has improved without losing the feel of the original.

Horrible CD label stock support,

This review is from: Ideasoft Surething CD Labeler (CD-ROM)
I agree with another reviewer comment about the quality of the SureThing Labeler as far as user friendliness and flexibility is concerned. I have tried the demos of many brands of labeling software and this one is the best. Its user interface is highly intuitive and quirk-free, unlike many others. HOWEVER, the version on the CD-ROM from Ideasoft sold here is an old one (2003) and, as its fatal flaw in my opinion, it only supports four different brands of CD/DVD labels and a TOTAL of a only fourteen different labels. The very popular and inexpensive Memorex brand of labels is not supported and that is the brand that I use exclusively. Unfortunately, Ideasoft provides absolutely ZERO update support for this software on their web site, so there is no way to add support for more label types.
The latest version of the SureThing labeling software is produced by Microvision, not by Ideasoft. Their SureThing CD/DVD Labeler: Deluxe V5 supports _24_ different label brands. I bought it after my bad experience with the Ideasoft version and am very impressed by its updated, but still intuitive, user interface and even greater flexibility. So, I'd recommend spending a bit more and buying this one instead: Surething CD/DVD Labeler: Deluxe V5 |
