We took this atlas with us when we flew to Nova Scotia for a 2-week vacation. We had no hotel reservations, just rented a car and took off, stopping when and where we wanted to. This atlas was perfect for finding the little roads that took us off the beaten path and don't show up on the bigger maps. The atlas took a little getting used to, with the way the pages refer back to other pages, but the spiral binding made it easy to flip from page to page.I highly recommend it to anybody planning a trip to Nova Scotia.

Could be much more detailed and useful (2.5 out of 5 stars),

I ordered this map in anticipation of an upcoming week-long photography trip to Nova Scotia. I was looking for a detailed map of the province that would give me a good idea of what routes to take and would (hopefully) ensure that I didn't get completely lost while navigating some of the back roads alone that I knew my GPS wouldn't cover. Unfortunately, I found this map to be rather lacking in detail and also found that the MapArt Canada Back Roads Atlas offered a much clearer and cleaner view of Nova Scotia with the same amount of detail -- and that's a 700-page book of *ALL* of Canada, whereas the Nova Scotia Atlas is a 144 page book of just Nova Scotia. Also, the Canada Back Roads Atlas only costs 10 dollars more (39.95 for the Back Roads Atlas versus 29.95 for the Nova Scotia Atlas at the time of this writing) so the choice was clear and I ended up returning this one.Maybe I'm just spoiled by using Delorme's super-in-depth Maine Atlas & Gazetteer on the back roads of Maine for the past 10+ years and had set my expectations too high by thinking this atlas might come close to matching that level of detail. In any case, I found this atlas to not be worth the money and would recommend purchasing either a less expensive atlas of Nova Scotia (visit the "Explore Similar Items" link on this product page) or paying the extra 10 dollars for the Back Roads Atlas and getting a clearer, easier to read map with the same amount of detail that also includes maps of the rest of Canada as well. |
