OUTLAWZ -true Indeed!,
By
This review is from: Novakane (Audio CD)
The Outlawz, For this album contains 4 members, and includes guest appearances by BIG SYKE, EDBONE and KAMILLION.!The album doesnt have a bad track and even the interludes are worth hearing! The outlawz, on this album give you everything from Heart-felt, 2pac influenced, songs like "SECOND HAND SMOKE" To party songs like "WORLD WIDE" and "REDBULL & VODKA" to straight, grab you rounD the throat and throttle you, tracks like "Y'ALL CANT DO" and "DIE IF YOU WANNA". To any one that likes 2pac, Raps with a message, Grimey Gutta raps, and serious Reflective songs and dance tracks- NOVAKANE IS FOR YOU! Its got me askin "roca-who?" Go kop the album or read the reveiws and then kop the album! Either way your not gonna be dissapointed! OUTLAWZ are coming up and taking the game back!!! pk2001

Maybe as good as their previous 2 albums ("Still I Rise" & "Ride Wit us Or Collide Wit Us") and probably slightly better, Young Noble, Edi Amin, Napoleon, and Kastro return with what made them great rappers to start with, good deep lyrics and some gangsta $h!+ as well. Guests are few on this 13 song album. It has 2 classics, 1 near classic, 2 ok songs, and the other 8 are good songs. Napoleon & Young Noble are on 11 songs, Edi is on 10 and Kastro (like usual is represented much less) is on 7. Production is good, Reef & LT Hutton each did 2 songs, and Muhammad Red, Shorty B, Poli Paul, Joey GLasses, Quimmy Quim, Floss P, Bosko, Mike Dean & Mack 4 all did 1 song. A must have for Outlawz fans.
#2 - 10 (Classic -- Edi, Kastro, Noble, Napoleon, Big Syke) -- good beat #3 - 9 (edi, Kastro, Noble) #4 - 8.5 (edi & kastro) #5 - 8.5 (edi, kastro, noble, napoleon -- deep song) #6 - 8.5 (edi, kastro, napoleon, noble) #8 - 8.5 (edi, napoleon, noble -- upbeat song) #9 - 7.5 (kastro, napoleon, noble -- deep song) #11 - 8.5 (noble f/ edi -- upbeat dirty song) #12 - 8 (kastro, edi, noble, napoleon, seal) #13 - 10 (CLASSIC -- kastro, napoleon, noble, kaillion -- good beat) #14 - 8 (edi, napoleon, noble, 2Pac, next -- also on 2Pac's "Until the End of Time") #15 - 9.5 (napoleon -- good beat) #17 - 8 (edi, napoleon, noble, ed bone, kamikaze) EDI AMIN ---- Malcolm Greenridge -- b. 7/7/77 -- b. They can do better than this,

I loved Tupac and the Outlawz were dope on Tupac's records. But I have to say this CD wasn't all that. I only liked four songs out of the 17 tracks, "This is the Life", "Ya'll Cant Do", "Boxspring Boogie" and "Loyalty". As you will tell when you listen, these are the better uptempo fire tracks. Most of the others are slow tracks and try to talk about social issues, but the Outlawz just dont pull that off like Tupac could, which is what the Lawz are trying to do. But I can only feel them when they do tracks that are uptempo, loud and angry. The Lawz are at their BEST when they are coming with HEAT. Leave the slow stuff to someone else to do. When they come aggressive they sound like how Tupac wanted them to, like Thug Life West Side Outlaw Riders!!
