I didn't log on to review this book but to search for another. I have to agree with most of the other reviewers. I haven't taken the exam yet because after going over and over this book I have no confidence that I can pass the exam. All the extra fluff was terribly distracting! I couldn't keep track of where he was going most of the time. I passed my MCSE self study in 4 months. So I don't think its just me. I going to try another author.

I had to purchase this book for a network administation class. I find the zen and quotes and quizzes, annoying and distracting if not down right frustrating.After jumping back and forth trying to figure out what the heck the author's point is...he throws in another piece of useless humor--I use the term loosely. (Perhaps he should consider writing aerobic exercise books). The case studies might be useful if the answer was, in fact, in appendix C. re: chapter 4 case study.I certainly hope I can convince my instructor not to use any more of these books.

THIS BOOK WAS PROVIDED TO ME BY THE SCHOOL I ATTEND TO PREPARE FOR THE CNA. THIS BOOK IF FULL OF USELESS TID BITS. I HATED THE QUIZZES AND ZEN. ONCE IT FINALLY GOT TO THE INFORMATION, IT WAS VAGUE AND DISORGANIZED. IF I HAD TO RELY ON THIS BOOK TO PASS I WOULD HAVE NEVER MADE IT. LUCKLY, I HAD AN EXCELLENT INSTRUCTOR.

This is the worst series of books I have ever used in any certification program. You get to read quotes from Jerry Seinfeld, but I doubt that he could set up a Novell Network, what is the point??? The same info over and over and in no particular order, the author jumps back and forth and never fully explains any one topic. . . Save your time and money, either get some real world experience or find a class because this is not going to help you certify

IMHO: This book has far too much fluff! The author was trying to be entertaining but to me he was annoying! I had to spend most of my time trying to highlight the important parts of the text for studying. The CD is also worthless. I have seen far better questions (test material) and presentation of exams.

This book was designed for you to pass the exam. It is well written, organized and the examples and case studies are plentiful. The Clarke Test 3.0 is a good bonus that comes with this book however is not sufficient. You should get the CNEQUIZER as well to ensure success. The CNA module is inexpensve (far cheaper than the Big Red Test). The Clarke Test, CNEQUIZER and this Study Guide is all you need to pass this exam. It sure did help me.

I am an instructor who teaches Novell Intranetware to students who don't have any previous computer experience, and they DETEST the book. I never noticed all the extra crap in it until they pointed it out to me. I spend most of my time pointing them to the EXCELLENT diagrams and charts, and steering them away from the text... It needs a re-write very very badly. I am going to recommend to my school that we change textbooks for this course.

Although it was all I used to pass the test, I was not impressed by the style. Following the course objectives in the appendix caused me to read the book in a strange order and often needlessly cover the same material several times.

The Zen more accurately could be termed Zit (Zero interesting trivia).

Get rid of the trivia, reorder the material, and supply sample tests that accurately reflect the Novell exams and you'll have a textbook.

Too big to read.

Too much attention and way too much detail inside.

I felt overwhelmed.

Didn't help me much for my exam!

I felt too analytical with this

un=zen book!

Better off buying another smaller book!
