Most Under-rated Band of our time,
By A Customer
This review is from: Novelty Forever (Audio CD)
Bracket is not for Fat Wreck Chords enthusiasts (that means you, NOFX boy), but they will attract old school punk rock lovers. This record is alot more polished than previous outings, but it just showcases their brilliance. Lyrically they aren't too strong (somewhere around early No Use For a Name), but they make up for it in musical talent. Harmonizing vocals much like Bad Religion and askewed unconventional chord progressions make this would-be pop-punk outfit stand out from the crowd... they are truly unique. There is no grunge going on here, but there is alot of talent. Although it's not my favorite release by this band, it is still outstanding. I used to think overproduction was a bad thing. If you like DIY only, then you probably stay away from Amazon.com all together... right?

Overall, a pretty good album. It's a little over-fuzzed and over-mixed for my taste, but I'm no recording engineer--so I'll keep my mouth shut. This album has energy, melody, and awesome vocal harmonies--but let's not forget about the amazing guitar solos. Now that I think about it, the term "solo" isn't good enough--I prefer to use "solo-gasm." Unlike all the "I can play faster than you" metal guitar solos so popular with modern punk rock, the guitar solos focus more on melody than speed. Marty Gregori's guitar solos sound very bluesy and very down-to-earth. As a whole, the album is just plain fun. And just as I thought it couldn't get better, I listen to the last track of the album--which is mostly a blues guitar solo. This is a real work of musical genius, and definitely shouldn't be overlooked.

Bracket is one of the best FAT bands. Every song is interesting and their sound never gets old. They aren't hardcore punk, so if you are close minded and refuse to bend you can continue limiting yourselves, but if you want to hear some good music buy or download some Bracket tunes.

All of Bracket's cd's rock. I have all their cd's and imports, and this cd is not all that coherent, but if you like variey, it's good. Great band, not grunge. If you think this is grunge, you've been on Mars since 1992. Long live punk rawk!

When I listened to cd at first, I was disgusted, utterly disgusted!!! This band has gotten worse and worse as time goes by. If I had to compare this CD to anything else, i would say,ummmmm..."The Queers" meets "Aerosmith",
