I found "The Birth of Novo" a fascinating look at an archetypal story... two irreconcilable battle between two "races" who blame the other for their ills - only to realize too late their fates are inexorably intertwined.
Quick, too the point - not overbearing in it's message. More importantly, Novo literally opens the door to new possibilities, new worlds, new adventures and new lessons. Masterfully done!

Bought this at Magfest 2012, where the writer/artist has all the books available. The art is exceptional in this book, it is worth picking up for that reason alone, but the story is also compelling. I will be getting the next book for sure. It is worth noting that there is a prequel that is meant to be read before this volume; I read this book first though and did not find the story confusing.
