Impossible to find but great CD,
By Rey (Jakarta Indonesia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: De Novo (Audio CD)
This is indeed a great CD! Nice to listen to in the car, evening parties, etc. But very difficult to find and major CD shops don't even know this one exists. I was lucky to find one in Manila, Phils. by sheer accident. Anyway, if you come across it, just buy it!

Great Classic of Brazilian Jazz,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: De Novo (Audio CD)
This almost-impossible-to-get CD by L.A. Transit is a historical landmark for Jazz and paticularly Brazilian Jazz; recorded in 1986 and released in Japan, japanese producers Kojima and Yoshida managed to summon some of the best jazzists in the world. They also managed to make an album that sounds so much like Sergio Mendes, without Sergio, but with many people who's played consistantly with Mr. Mendes in the past; just check the list: - Yutaka Yokokura / Keyboards, Arrangements and Vocals - Gracinha Leporace / Vocals - Tom Scott / Saxophones - Abraham Laboriel / Bass Guitar - Alex Acuna / Drums - Paulinho DaCosta / Percussions - Oscar Castro-Neves / Acoustic Guitars & Cavaquinho - Carol Rodgers / Vocals - Kasuo Yoshida / Drums & Production - Paul Jackson Jr. / Electric Guitars - Jose Marino / Bass Guitar etc. Another great highlight (known to those who's listened to groups like Casiopea throughout the years), this CD was recorded Digitally, as it's common in Japan; so 22 years later the sound is so crisp and top-of-the-line.

I bought this CD from a record store in the early 90's that had it specially imported for me from Japan via Canada, had to drive 1.5 hrs 1 way to pick it up, and years later, after sending it out to be resurfaced, It was lost!I fretted and searched for years online to find another one at a good price (anything under $200 is good for this), I finally found it by chance. Brazillian jazz fusion at its best!

The ultimate in California summer sunshine margarita music,
By A Customer
This review is from: De Novo (Audio CD)
This is the kind of music that makes you want to sit in the sunshine on a beach/deck/trendy eatery drinking margaritas and feeling gloriously romantic. Sort of like having a musical soundtrack of California sunshine. This is my favorite music to clean house to.
