4.0 out of 5 stars Great not good, May 11, 2001

This review is from: Now 1995 (Audio CD)
In this addition to the Now:Millenium Series,it features a year which also saw the hosepipe ban and the OJ Simpson Trial.CD 1 high points are the ever talented U2's Hold Me,Thrill Me,...Tina Turner's searing Goldeneye, and Meat Loaf's enthralling rock melody I'd Lie For You (And That's The Truth).Sadly,it also features Supergrass' tacky and deeply irritating Alright and Pulp's excessively glum Common People, appropriately sung by someone who sounds like a deeply common person.Never mind, let's move over to number two, where we have the Lighthouse Family's classic Ocean Drive,an enlifting, unforgettable experience with one of the best saxophone melodies of modern years.Bobby Brown's Two Can Play That Game is a catchy dance floor anthem,as is Livin' Joy's Dreamer,Strike's U Sure Do and The Bomb (These Sounds Fall Into My Mind) by Kenny 'Dope' Presents The Bucketheads (what a pleasant name!)...

4.0 out of 5 stars A Nice Shot, February 19, 2001
This review is from: Now 1995 (Audio CD)
An good attempt at collecting a slew of quasi-hits from the European rim, so to speak. I loved it! Buy it just for the amazing song/track Wonderwall by Oasis. Here in the US its hard to get albums from the UK, so buy this since you got the chance.Anyway it's cool and thoughtful, smart and fun. Interesting.
