I've never been a big fan of mixes that pull their material from such a wide spectrum, and I will never be able to listen to this CD straight through, but I'm buying this and two other NOW discs for our Juke Box at work (a bar downtown Milwaukee, WI).

For that use - it works well, as customers come and go through the coarse of the night, the style of music played changes. Bad songs are good for a Juke Box (if someone plays them) as they get people off of their stools to play something they like. When the the bar is filled with people of widely different music preferences the Juke is still playing LONG after I'm done cleaning up for the night - HOURS after the last customer was kicked out...

This CD will work well for a Juke Box, but to play straight through at home or in the car it will have limited value - you'll get more milage pulling the songs you like off of it and burning your own mix CD.

This series of cds is ok if you tend to lean towards more rap/hip-hop, since there is 30% of it on there the majority of the time now. It used to be a good mix.. of what's "now" instead of what's "now" in that teen's car that you can here 20 feet away.

The Now That's What I Call Music series have been around since 1998, when the series first arrived with Janet Jackson, The Backstreet Boys, Fastball, and The Spice Girls. (Do any of those ring a bell?) But there is one thing the series have done and as of today continue doing; releasing tri-annual discs of what we were jamming to the past three months. Today we look at Now's 1 and 2 as "the best of the late 90's", and Now 24 gives us the Billboard Hot 100 charters of the first quarter of 2007.

Most of these songs were indeed hits, which we have to give Now! props on, since Now! complications 12-22 were fairly weak, although volume 19 was a slight step in the right direction, most of them had half and half as far as what were hits and what were on there as filler. And much like Now 23, this complication really has nothing that is truly filler, other than Corinne Bailey Rae's "Put Your Records On", which is about two discs too late. And if you become picky and look at the charts, you'll probably wonder why Paula DeAnda, Ludacris, and Fall Out Boy didn't make the cut. Otherwise we have the typical Now! CD; divas and girl singers of the moment (Fergie, Rihanna, and Beyonce), pop culture icons of the year (Nelly Furtado, Justin Timberlake, why not just say Timbaland?), your favorite rhythmic artists of the moment (Akon, Bow Wow), the R&B section (Ciara, Omarion, Chris Brown), some of your adult contemporary females that are all underrated (Corinne Bailey Rae, Lily Allen, K.T. Tunstall), and the four or five pop-rockers that are overplayed on mainstream radio (Hellogoodbye, The Red Jumpsuit Appratus, The Fray, Nickeblack, Daughtry, and The All-American Rejects). Really nothing jumps out and says "I'm a filler song and weren't a hit and shouldn't be on here.", except once again Corinne being a little late and Hellogoodbye not being a huge chart-topper. One thing missing on this album is the creme de la creme track that puts the album over-the-top, whether it be a country track (which has been a trend since the 16th edition) or some sort of harder rock track. No, most people buying the CD would careless about the "token track", but it makes the album as a whole stronger and not just a CD with a bunch of songs that if I'd turn it to the mainstream station they'd be playing. Also, it would be cool to hear some newer cuts, like what we are listening to RIGHT NOW, not three months ago, but I suppose that's not what these complications are all about. I definitely cannot hate on this complication, since it's probably the best Now! in the past few years, not including even one filler track. A good CD to keep, especially five years from now you open it up and remember when Timbaland and Timberlake were the two hottest things in the last quarter of '06 and first half of '07. 4.5 stars.

This CD has a great mix of music for the person who doesn't like to make up their minds about what they want to listen to, you can listen to a little of this, a little of that. That's my favorite type of CD.

This was a good selection of songs from the winter of 2007. Most of them were really good with a handful of really bad songs.

Fergie - Fergalicious: Loses half a grade for being edited but a good song. A-

Rihanna - Break it off: Not a great song but not bad either. B

Nelly Furtado - Say It Right: Should have put Maneater on here but still a good song. B

Beyonce - Irreplaceable: Good song. A

Justin Timberlake - My Love D: Average song not as good as Sexy Love. B-

Akon - I Wanna Love You: Average song. B-

Bow Wow - Shortie Like Mine: Horrible song! F

Lloyd - You: Not a bad song I like it. B

Ciara - Promise: Terrible! F

Omarion - Ice Box: Awful! F

Chris Brown - Say Goodbye: One of the few songs good by him. A-

Corrine Bailey Rae - Put Your Records On: This was a good song. B+

Lily Allen - Smile: I was not smiling after hearing this song! F

KT Tunstall - Suddenly I See: Great song! A+

Hellogoodbye - Here In Your Arms: Good song. A

Red Jumpsuit Apparatus - Face Down: I was face down after listening to this song. F

The Fray - How To Save a Life: Great song! A+

Nickelback - If Everyone Cared: Another good song. A

Daughtry - It's Not Over: One of my favorites by him. A

All American Rejects - It Ends Tonight: Great song to end the CD with. A+

I have been collecting all of the NOW albums the past 8 1/2 years and many of them are really good (my favorites are NOW 5,14,20,and 27). But I didn't hear too many good songs in this one except KT Tunstall's 'Suddenly I See' and the one by Daughtry. Not all the NOW's are that great and this one is just average. I would personally give it 2.5 stars.

I bought this CD to work out with. It is great! Keeps me moving!

Lloyd featuring Lil' Wayne: You- I don't really listen to this song a lot but it is supposed to be good. B
Ciara: Promise- Ok. B
Omarion: Ice Box- Good song. B+
Chris Brown: Say Goodbye- Chris Brown is an excellent singer and hip hop artist. This song is awesome. A+
Corinne Bailey Rae: Put Your Records On- Good singing. A

The Fray: How To Save A Life- The singer mutters his words a lot and seems like a "down" song. But is still OK. B
Nickelback: If Everyone Cared- I don't like the singers voice but is still OK. A-
Daughtry: It's Not Over- Overplayed too much. I am kind of getting sick of that song! B-
The All American Rejects:It Ends Tonight- Good song but probably should have been on Now 22 or 23.
"Now 25" should have songs such as This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race, The Sweet Escape, Cupid's Chokehold (Radio Mix), Don't Matter, Smack That, Beautiful Liar, and Girlfriend.
I have a lot of the tracks on my MP3 and am pretty satasfied with this product. I recommend for you to get this.

It's not the first CD, but the 24th! Now 24 has all of the recent "chart-topping hits"!

The first song is "Fergalicious" from Fergie. I would much rather just skip over that. Then it's Rihanna featuring Sean Paul with "Break it Off". Anyone who loves listening to them separately loves listening to them together. Next, "Say it Right" by Nelly Furtado, a slower song that is forgetable. Singing "Irreplaceable", Beyonce has hit the charts once again. A somewhat slow but catchy song is okay for me. Number five is "My Love" by Justin Timberlake. Again, I would much rather just skip over that. Akon appears with Snoop Dog singing "I Wanna Love You". This song was a very popular song, but gets a little old after a while. Bow Wow, Chris Brown, and Johnta Austin sing "Shortie Like Mine". This song is a very interesting song to listen to. Llyod and Lil Wayne with "You" is just another song. Two thumbs down for me. Song number nine is "Promise". Ciara has also hit the charts, but I don't treasure this song. Omarion appears with "Ice Box". I would definitely skip over that song. Chris Brown reappears singing "Say Goodbye" on track eleven. If you like that style of music, then you might enjoy this song. Corinne Bailey Rae sings "Put Your Records On". A slower song, but does speed up and slow down throughout the song. It could grow on you, though. Lily Allen with "Smile" appears on track thirteen. Knowing whom Lily Allen is and listening to her all of the time, is interesting to know that she made it on the charts (and on this CD) for being a fairly new artist. "Suyddenly I See" by KT Tunstall is a unique song that really stands out on this CD. I love listening to "Here (in Your Arms)" by Hellogoodbye. It is somewhat slow, but is very different. Track number sixteen is "Face Down" by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. This song has a short story beneath the music; I love it! With constantly listening to The Fray, it doesn't surprise me that "How To Save A Life" is on the CD. A very sad and slow song is also amazing at the same time. Another sad but amazing song "If Everyone Cared" by Nickelback, which is absolutely amazing. Song after song, Nickelback is always perfecting them to once again hit the charts. On season five of American Idol, Chris Daughtry sings "It's Not Over" which amazes the "crowd" once again! The All-American Rejects appear on track twenty to end with "It Ends Tonight". It fits in perfectly with the sad and slower songs.

If you enjoy pop music, (or even rock or hip-hop), you would definitely enjoy this CD.
