1.0 out of 5 stars Towels do not absorb...
Nice colors, but the quality is not as good as some of the reviews mentioned. They don't absorb much either. I'll have to use them for some other purposes rather than as dish cloth.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love the big towels, January 23, 2011

The dish rags are dish rags, they do their job. What I really love are the towels: they're much larger than a typical kitchen towel, and they're absorbent enough to wipe up my multitude of spills. Colors pictured are accurate.

2.0 out of 5 stars shrunk a lot, November 17, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The flour sacks shrunk a lot after washing and the dishrags were more of what I'd expect to see in an industrial kitchen sink - rough and designed to get large chunks of food off dishes, but not small ones.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blast from the past, July 4, 2011

These "flour sack" kitchen hand towels are strong, absorbant and almost as decorative as the ones my grandmother had. The only differences that I see are the colours. During the early 1900's flour actually came in these rough, tightly woven cotton sacks. Most of the sacks were florals and other prints. When the flour was used up, the sacks were cut in pieces and used as hand towels in the kitchen. Or they became a dress or shirt for one of the children. Or they were cut into squares and sewn together to make a quilt.

Great find. Great price. Thank you, Amazon for the connection.

4.0 out of 5 stars sooo good at soaking up water, December 16, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These have been the best towels I've ever used for soaking up water.

However, they seemed to be good at soaking up smells too.

I had a Parmesan cheese spill on my counter one day, and my towels started smelling like Parmesan cheese after using them to clean it up, and even after washing I couldn't get the smell out, so I threw them out.

I miss them!

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice item...Minor issues, April 19, 2010
I really enjoy these dishtowels and they work great to dry/wash dishes. The only problem is that they are fading as I use them and the colors seem to run slightly. They also seem to be shrinking slightly??? I would definitely still buy them again because I haven't used any that I liked this much before!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great value, April 11, 2010
I have the "chocolate" set and really love it. The towels are excellent for drying dishes. They absorb all the water, leaving the dishes nice and dry, and don't leave behind any fibers. The dish cloths are fine for the price, also. For the price you really can't beat it.
