Used externally over the stomach, this essential oil helps warm the digestion and process food. Worn an inch below the inner wrists between the two middle tendons, ginger oil can calm nausea and car sickness. You can spot it over your glands when you are coming down with a cold. 2.0 out of 5 stars disappointing smell
I was expecting this ginger oil to be as aromatic and pleasing as NOW Rosemary Oil, but it just isn't. It isn't a foul or moldy/musty smell, just not fragrant and enjoyable. Even mixed with almond oil, it has a pungent smell to it. From my experience with cooking with ginger, I feel this oil was distilled with the skin on. It is too bad because NOW makes great products...

Used externally over the stomach, this essential oil helps warm the digestion and process food. Worn an inch below the inner wrists between the two middle tendons, ginger oil can calm nausea and car sickness. You can spot it over your glands when you are coming down with a cold. The oil is warming and aromatic which helps digestion. To use it, you can either dilute it in almond or jojoba oil to go over large areas of skin or use it neat over an acupuncture point or two. But be aware that not all indigestion responds to warming- if you have heartburn or a hot sensation in your stomach, the NOW FoodsPeppermint Oil - 4 oz. is more effective.

Essential oils are medicinal as is, or can be combined with other oils for fragrance purposes or in medicinal formulas. This essential oil captures ginger in all its pungency. Mixed as a smaller part of a floral or spicy mixture of oils, this may add a keynote that the first reviewer might prefer. But for the essence of ginger and its ability to warm, digest and dispel nausea, the NOW oil performs comparably to much more expensive essential oils.
