I know that this is a very weird review for a cooking oil....................but I conditioned my hair with this product. I know that there are other hair products that include macadamia oil in it, but I did not find one that is as pure as this product. I took a gamble with this product because it is organic. I am more than glad that I did. I am an young African American with very thick coarse hair, especially when I am nearing time for my relaxer. After letting this oil sit on my hair for two hours, allowing its moisturizing qualities take place under a plastic cap, I started to shampoo my hair and notice how much softer and moister my hair was. It was texture changing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will be buying more in the future for my hair care. It may be cooking oil, but it works wonders for dry hair!

My title basically says it all for this Macadamia Nut Oil, which I bought for browning meats, hoping to infuse an unusually rich tang to the same ole fry. I was surprised that the flavor was slightly sweet, whereas I had expected (and received) a rich nutty enhancement to the meat's browning. Once I was aware of the blend of sweet & nutty (like moi?) I was able to adapt my other seasonings to balance or subdue the sweet and enhance the salty nut side.

I had been concerned that a high quality nut oil might not have qualities which would withstand the high heats I prefer for searing meat, so I was thrilled to read the label and discover the capacity there to be beyond my expectations, to the good. In my testing, I found that the Macadamia Nut Oil could handle my "pouring on the coal" more easily than my favorite olive oils.

And the luxurious aroma which rises up from a hot pan as I pour in this oil, then quickly slide in a piece of steak (or fish, chicken, pork, raw veggies, etc.) ... it's hard to describe the mouth-watering hit of balsamic, tropical, nutty-sweet paradise dancing up from the pan. In the steam I swear I saw palm trees and ... Trinidad ... and I broke into one of my favorite songs from times past, "Rum & Coca Cola," by the Andrews Sisters.

What a gift to have unusual, exotic oils like this easily available from Amazon vendors.

For another treat with a simpler flavor but an equally rich after-taste, see my KINDLE offering, Coal & Coca-cola.

To your good taste!

I bought this oil after reading a description of its benefits in Tim Ferris' 4-Hour Body. I couldn't find it in my local stores, so online seems to be the only way to get it. Tim said it tastes buttery, but I don't get that. It tastes like Macadamia nuts (duh). That said, it does taste better than olive oil for frying eggs and other high-temp frying. I'd like to find it in a larger size, at a cost-per-ounce saving.

I intend to buy it again when it's getting close to empty; which, at the rate I'm using it, will be pretty soon.

I ordered this to use when making my own

sugar and salt body scrubs, and i now find myself

just putting it on straight from the bottle,

after drying off from a shower. It's known as

"vanishing oil", due to how wonderfully it

absorbs into the skin. My skin is soooo soft, now.

This oil works better than any "moisturizer" i've ever used!

It has a somewhat strong nutty aroma, (obviously)

but it quickly dissipates after a few minutes, and

doesnt interfere at all with any cologne, body spray or perfume.

i also hear it's great for cooking!!

I like olive oil however it can sometimes taste really strong in certain recipes. However, Macadamia Oil has a much better, subtle, and buttery taste. This works great for us because we don't have to use much to get a great buttery taste.

Plus, the health benefits are great. Our entire family loves this stuff. I've gotten my sisters, Mom, and in-laws to use this. It really does provide a great alternative to olive oil.

Also, the Now Foods brand oil is much better than the expensive Dr. P's MacNut brand which I was impartial to until I tasted this one. I trust Now Foods and love that this was much less expensive.

I use this oil almost everyday to fry eggs in a cast iron pan. It always comes out delicious, this oil makes the eggs taste great and works well with the cast iron pan so that the eggs don't stick. I can't believe how much better than olive oil this stuff tastes!

Very happy with this product - I have been searching for a healthy oil to make mild homemade mayo and this oil is it! Fast shipping and reasonably priced.

The macadamia nut oil was packed in a plastic bottle giving it a stale off-taste. Decanting the oil into a glass jar made the rancid and plastic taste less noticeable but still there. Macadamia oil is an expensive commodity used for its delicate flavor - it should be sold only in glass. Very disappointing!

I've been using Macadamia Nut Oil for my hair for 8 years ever since I found it was the primary ingredient in a $24.00 1oz tube of leave in hair conditioner. The conditioner had two ingredients, one being Macadamia Nut Oil.

Since then I have been purchasing Macadamia Nut Oil by International Oils and it left my hair so incredible soft. One small bottle lasts me nearly a year and this is with weekly use. I finished a bottle this year and found NOW brand which was more for less money plus being organic. Today I tried the Macadamia Nut oil and Oh MY Goodness .. I NEVER knew that Macadamia Nut oil could smell SO GOOD!

It smells like salty Macadamia nuts!

It still leaves my hair incredible soft and it smells wonderful. I never have used this stuff for cooking , preferring Rice Bran Oil for it's health benefits but I think I may need to try and incorporate this into my cooking.

Update: I now use Macadamia Nut Oil as part of my oil cleansing method and it has SAVED my skin. Macadamia Nut oil closely matches our own sebum and my skin for the last 6 months has been incredible dry and rough. I've tried natural oils and I have tried over the counter products and NOTHING has worked.

I was trying Almond oil which helped somewhat but not for long but recently I had heard of the Oil Cleansing method for skin care and mixed Almond Oil with this Macadamia Nut Oil and my skin is now incredible soft and healthy. I'm so relieved by this. It feels great and I'm now using it as an all over skin moisturizer. I don't think this bottle will last a year but for the price who cares? It works!
